Wednesday, March 29: the first thing we did when we got him out of the shelter was switch out the ineffective medicine for something that would do a better job, and start him on twice daily medicated vaporizer treatments. By day 2 he was already showing a little improvement, though he still had lungs full of pneumonia that made breathing extremely difficult. He slept constantly

Home that night, trying to get him to go potty a little bit... I felt like Atreyu with Artax in the Swamps of Sadness.

Our first stop was the vet. He came in on a stretcher because he was too weak to walk. He did eat a little bit and drank some water, the first he'd had in who knows how long

Tuesday, March 28: He almost didn't make it out of the shelter... they didn't want to release him, and I'm positive if I hadn't insisted on staying there until I got him, he would have been put down that day.
They had to wheel him out on a stretcher - he was so sick he couldn't walk and had pressure sores on his feet and legs from laying on cold wet concrete

Saturday, March 25th: I went to meet this very sick amd depressed boy after a friend posted his picture in the rescue groups. He was overweight, ill and very depressed. He was going downhill rapidly in the shelter and hadn't eaten in 4 days. I couldn't leave him there any longer.
