We are a small backyard farm located in Spring/The Woodlands, Texas that has a love for everything Silkie's and other bantam breeds. Member of the American Silkie Bantam Club and American Poultry Association. POLICIES: Eggs: Whether eggs are shipped or picked up, hatching eggs is a gamble...PERIOD. Once eggs/chicks/poultry leaves my hands I am no longer responsible. If an egg does not hatch it doe

s not mean it is not fertilized. I check fertility weekly and hatch just fine from my own stock year-round. Numerous factors come into play and everyone's incubating and handling practices play a factor. Holds: No holds on any birds unless we have personally made arrangements. All birds must be picked up within the week or they will be placed back on availability.Birds are first come, first serve. I will go down my waitlist and if I don't get a timely response, I move on to the next in line. All that said, I am always here for advice on hatching, raising chicks, helping your flock.

Well I wasn’t gonna hatch anymore for now, but my husband collected eggs properly for a project and is so proud and so into the incubator tomorrow goes a bakers dozen of hookerbirds! I’m pretty excited. I hate incubating…but here I am now!

Haven’t posted in a while. I’m not dead yet. Loving the Colombian pattern I’m getting in my Dookie (Duccle/Silkie X) growout projects. I think they are beautiful with both the crest I love so much and the foot feathering and they are so sweet. Working on Black mottled and Mille Fleur Duccle X as well to see what the combo brings out. I have a new hatch that looks Mille from birth but we shall see! 🥰

My only non bearded silver based white Silkie hen with a drop of p**p on her side 😅. Silver base white surprisingly stay so crisp and clean colored if someone doesn’t p**p on them. She doesn’t have my heart shape in the b***y as much as I’d like but I love the silver based gene.

When you are God’s paintbrush holder. I crossed my late Waylon before my head roo attacked him in my arms (pure black silkie with a Birchen satin) you throw the eggs in the incubator and you get some beauty with that pure black emerald sheen. Live on my stud muffin. RIP Waylon.

So uplifting to go see them thriving despite my hardships.

A Polish stand off. 🤣 Hello freaks!
Steevie the blind polish just got a young grow out friend I hatched. The growout is super chill as it thinks it’s a Silkie so I’m hoping it may give Steevie a non human or piggy friend. Steevie just had (I think) her first good molt as I don’t really know because she was abandoned about a year ago here at the CHICU. She does really well.
I need to name the Gold Laced I hatched…

A curious blue cream (Porcelain) grow out and liking to hang out by the nesting boxes and think to herself…one day I shall lay my eggs there. She’s a girl. She’s young but I guarantee it. She has a tw***ie that hates my phone. It would be my first blue cream boy actually if so.
And a paint showgirl growout that is starting to bloom (but no boy signs!) so hopefully it ends my jinx of boy paint showgirls!! 🤣

This crazy haired kid here just makes me smile and I just love it but dang it I can’t keep a frizzle boy only girls grrrr and I am just loving this baby that hatched during my lung surgery. 🥰
Had another baby born so I had to go do a quick walk through this evening.

Maynard, my head roo’s son likes to pose ALOT. 🤣🤷🏻‍♀️ Most of the ladies say no to Maynard but I think he and Lyla might have a thing going or they just both want to pose today. Idk. Maynard thinks if he stands like a statue the women will just come running. Instead they think he’s a dummy.
Tyson aka Killa is certainly overpassing my old man roo as head roo now I think since he killed my sweet Waylon. I’d send him on his way but I think he’s so pretty, well except the boys keep sparring so their crests look like crap. 🙄

A Polish and a hookerbird walk into a bar...yayyy my first Modern Game Fowl hatched from my mated pair Daddy and Mommy Long Legs and my first time hatching one from my polish in all of these years.

Awkward stage! 😀 growout littles. That white frizzle tho 😅she will be a beauty in a few days once the feathering out ugly duckling phase finishes. So I thought the hatch was ruined from the 12 hour power outage and still I might not get great numbers but they chose Easter and now they are popping out like popcorn. 1 before I left for moms and now 2 more and another zipping. Hoping it keeps going but I had literally given up hope for any that survived.

I ain’t got time for this! She got a bath and an Elector dip and I am busy doing chicken kits! Sun went away so letting the oscillating fan heater be my blowdryer. Always amazed how a floofy Silkie ball looks like a buck and then you get them wet and they turn into a dime piece. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Christmas 2022 Hatch

The “ruined” hatch by my Incredible Hulk hen may produce another it seems! I cannot even tell you at this point what day this is but I kept seeing glimmers of movement in a couple of eggs so here we are!

Teresa here, Marissa’s partner farm. I have some not quite babies, not quite tweens up for discussion. All are pure silkies, but mutts as far as silkie coloring goes. Right now it seems like all I am getting is Blues and splash or both with crazy buff leakage. I’m sure there’s some creative names for them, but they’re basically really pretty mutts. Edit to re-phrase. These came out of a Project pen. The goal was to make pretty calico coloring. Marissa said for me to quit calling them mutts 😂.
