Its that time of year agaim for CT residents! Please send us your updated town licenses before summer travel begins 🐕‍🦺🐾🦴

🥇Counting down to June 1st for the new, beautiful, dog license tags! For 2023 there were 1,356 dogs licensed. I wonder what number we will get to this year? 🤔

It is required by CT State law to license your dogs in the town you reside in. Dogs are also required to wear their rabies tag and license tag on their collar or harness. If you are renewing your license or licensing for the first time to include your dog’s microchip number if they have one.

Another reminder, our rabies vaccine clinic is on Saturday, June 1st from 10AM - 2PM at the Thompson Townhall.

Just a quick note to say I am excited about returning to work this week! I am sorry for those of you who have not been able to get an appointment with us for groomings this summer. My staff has been AMAZING at handling all aspects during my maternity leave and thanks to my longtime friend Melora (coming all the way from Bellingham) for covering a few days of haircuts for me as well. I am so grateful to all of them. I appreciate all of you and your patience while the girls managed their work load and mine so I could welcome my beautiful twin daughters Shannon & Leanne into this world on July 9th. They arrived by emergency c section as 3lb preemies and spent 3 weeks in the NICU. Both are thriving now and weighing over 9lbs.
I look forward to your pet’s return and am booking dates through the holidays now.

Proud to now offer our farm raised USDA Belted Galloway beef for sale. All hormone and antibiotic free. 1/2 and 1/4 cows are also available to reserve for sale at our farm.
Frozen, pre packaged, vacuum sealed USDA beef is priced per lb.
Marrow bones, soup bones, sirloin, brisket, tenderloin/filet, ribeye, NY strip, skirt, flank, roasts, organ meat, and ofcoarse ground beef.

Happy Small Business Saturday! Shop small…shop local.

While we served many, many thankful customers this weekend, I also can't tell you how many times I overheard, "I bet we can get this cheaper on Amazon " this weekend. 😥
Here is my response:
We may not have the best prices but we offer the best friendly service and a beautiful place to shop.

We may not have perfect retail spaces but they are filled with good energy and love.

We may not offer free shipping but we’ll ship as fast as possible... and add a handwritten note because each and every order matters.

We may not be open long hours but goodness did we work hard at building and improving our online presence in 2020.

We may not have unlimited inventory but we work hard at making or curating items we think you’ll love.

We may not be a million dollar business but we give back to our communities in soooo many ways.

What we are... is unique, passionate, helpful, caring, giving, kind, and grateful.

Shop small whenever you can - whether it’s online or in person - and you’ll put a smile on each and every small business owner’s face - even if it is behind a mask that we wear for our 8 hour shift.

I am so unbelievably proud that Poppy, GCH Chivalry’s Miss Popularity was awarded Best of Opposite s*x and Best Owner Handler at this year’s ESSFTA National Specialty! ♥️. Thanks for the honor Breeder Judge Dana Lodge and thanks to Catherine for taking such good care of Poppy and my other dogs on this trip out to Missouri. Attention Clients,
State of CT department of Ag is now requiring all kennels and grooming shops to keep on record town dog licenses for every dog in our care regardless of which town or state dogs live in. The fines are steep and we have updated this requirement in our client portal.

We appreciate your cooperation in obtaining and keeping up to date your dog's town dog license which is obtained by your town's town hall clerk by providing a rabies certificate to them.

If you have your dog's license please take a moment to upload a photo to our client portal before your pet's next grooming or stay with us.

Now hiring animal lovers for farm/dog kennel. Shifts are Weekdays and Saturdays & Sundays. Job duties include cleaning kennels/stalls, turnouts, bathing, feeding, walking dogs, laundry, cleaning, and attending to and caring for dogs and cats, horses, sheep and their owners, answering phone, booking appointments, etc. Must have reliable transportation, be responsible and punctual, great customer service skills, and the ability to lift 50lbs without restrictions. Previous employment or experience with Dogs,Horses or other livestock helpful.

This course is led by trainers from Morning Star Farm Pet Resort, LLC and is an introduction to positive training for dogs. Classes will provide foundational training including getting your dog's attention, learn voice and hand signals, sit, down, stay, heel, place, and come when called. Management skills and problem solving will also be stressed. Classes will meet Sundays from 10am-11am on June 6th - June 27th at the Senexet Village Road Soccer Field. Cost to attend is $100 and dogs must be 5 months or older. Register at https://form.jotform.com/211034396542148 and then payment must be submitted to Woodstock Recreation.
