She’s finally arrived! Massive congratulations to Nicole and Kellen for bringing Miss Charlotte into the world. She is so beautiful and loved and everybody is doing well! We are so proud of Nicole and can’t wait to see how she flourishes in motherhood ❤️

Backcountry family, we are SO excited to announce that we are welcoming a new groomer into our fold-meet Jackie! She will be starting with us in May after Nicole leaves us (temporarily!) and will be staying on for the foreseeable future. We are looking forward to being a part of Jackie’s next chapter and can’t wait for you to meet her!

Gussie is one of our sweet girls who is needing a new home. She’s well established with Nicole and she will happily continue with Gussie in her new home. Our hearts break for her dad and the situation and we hope someone will be able to take her into their loving home!

Gussie. Gus is looking for her forever home. Sadly her owners time in the physical world is coming to an end. I will be helping Gus find a forever home as its her owners last wish to know that she is safe, secure, and well loved and cared for as he departs. Talk about a tough phone call. Her awesome vet and vet staff contacted me and asked if I can help spread the word and she will be a SunDog foster.

Gus is a mixed breed. Airedale & Doodle (mix has been guessed). She is spayed, current on vaccs, friendly, lives with cats. Dogs & kids unknown at time. She is crate trained and eats Purina Pro Plan. She has been regularly vetted and groomed in her life. Her next groom is this weekend so yes she’s a little shaggier than normal in photo.

Gus has a big booming bark in times of excitement but its all noise and she is super friendly and social-able! All of her neighbors know her. Just a typical energetic mixed breed Doodle type dog! She walks well on leash. She is used to a fenced yard. She may need a refresher in basics and manners but overall she’s just a young, happy, and full of life dog. And like all dogs they need time of transition and adjustment.

If you or someone you know think you can give Gus her forever home please contact me! While I will not rush in finding her her forever home I would love nothing more than to find a great home so her owner can see Gus has found her new home and is deeply loved before he passes on 😔.

And side note please make sure you have a plan in place for your dogs shall anything ever happen to you! If you need some help and guidance please reach out to me as I have helped quite a few camp families get things squared away for their dogs shall the unthinkable happen 🙁. And even if you have a plan in place have a backup plan or two. I know this from experience after losing SunDog A. As well as being called at the last hour for camper help who lost their human and things fell apart within the family!

Did I know this was a thing until today? No! But I’m happy to see it is! Not only do we appreciate and love all of you and your fur kids, but I am so thankful to have Mindy and Nicole on this journey with me. I couldn’t do this without them and I really am looking forward to what our future has in store 🐾❤️

GOOD NEWS EVERYONE! We’re moving!

As some of you have found out this past week when we’ve made your next appointments-as of September 1st, we will NOT be at our location on Carter Rd! Our new home will be located in the Kids Creek Plaza near Meijer. Also in the Plaza is Little Caesars, Biggby Coffee, SVS Vision, and more! We will be in Unit 115 which is located on the far end of the right building, to the left of TC Nourish. Hopefully we’ll have a new sign up within a couple of months to make us easier to find. Our phone number will remain the same!

Thank you all so much for your support and love and coming to find us tucked away for the last four years. We hope this new location will be convenient for you, and we can’t wait to show you as we settle in! ❤️🐾

Helllllloooooo friends! I am hoping your summer has started out great and we have lots of fun planned for the rest! Within the next few days I’m hoping to get out a midsummer check in and share some updates of what’s coming down our (furry) pipeline. Before that thought I’m reaching out to any of our clients and friends or their spouses or siblings or second cousin’s-aunt’s-grandparent’s-twice-removed that are in the trades-specifically plumbers, electricians, and maybe a contractor? I need to pick some brains and would greatly appreciate any insight I can get. Please relay to them the salon number, have them call or text so I can coordinate to get some info! In anticipation of this winter storm, if you are scheduled on Friday Dec 23rd or Saturday Dec 24th and you do not feel comfortable driving to us, PLEASE RESCHEDULE with us. With all the recent accidents and the forecast, we would absolutely much rather you stay safe and warm at home, especially those of you who live outside of TC. Hi friends! I want to give you another update on happenings here with us!

In the next couple of weeks our pricing will be increasing slightly and changing to more accurately represent how much TIME we are spending with your kids. Some of you will experience less of an increase than others, but again, it’s more TIME related and hoping to be more accurate and fair to both you and us to make your kids happy, comfortable, and beautiful! As we settle into this new structure, I will be turning the online booking feature off for now. As we actively work with how the scheduling goes in real time we will adjust it accordingly. As of right now, our plan is to charge per hour, within 4 weight categories, and your minimum charge can be as low as your current typical bill. We will only charge for the amount of time we are actively working with your kid as we do have only one tub and dryer and we don’t feel it’s fair to charge for wait time if it happens (for example, even if we have them for 2 hours, you may be charged for 1.75 hours). Please be patient with us as we all adjust and we hope this benefits us all!

We are still unable to accept kids who have been sprayed by a skunk and have residual smell-please refer to the previous post for help with that if you end up in that unfortunate situation!

Hi friends! Popping on to give some updates over the next couple of days-the first of which concerning kids who get sprayed by skunks!

AT THIS TIME, we are unable to accept any kid who has been sprayed by a skunk and still has the lingering odor. We’d really love to help you in your time if smelly need, however, out of respect to the business in the loft space above us, we CANNOT bathe or groom them. We will still provide a nail trim, feet trim, and brush out as the strength of the odor allows, but will reschedule your bath and groom out about a month and advise measures to take at home to help neutralize the skunk odor. IF YOU DO NOT INFORM IS OF A PREVIOUS ENCOUNTER, your dog will be sent home, and you WILL be charged an additional fee up to $50.

This is one of the best ways to help immediately after your pup gets sprayed, the most important instruction being DO NOT GET THEM WET. It’s counterintuitive I know, but once you wet the coat to rinse the spray, the cuticles of the hair and the follicles/pores in their skin open up more and allow the oil-based spray to seep in, kind of like garlic on your hands while you cook, and will then make the smell linger for months! Keep on hand these three ingredients to make the paste, mix it up and put it on as soon as possible after the incident. The Dawn helps break down the oils, the hydrogen peroxide and baking soda help to neutralize the smell, and this process may need to be done multiple times to fully get rid of the odor.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, we truly want to help you address the issue and make sure your pup looks and smells their best! This is a matter that is out of our hands and we want to remain respectful neighbors to the businesses around us. Thank you for your understanding! 🐾❤️

Happy warm weather everyone! As we move into summer, a few quick things:

1) As of right now, we are booking into the second and third weeks of July
2) That being said, we will not be accepting any NEW clients at this time
3) Online booking is still available for your booking convenience, HOWEVER, please note that if you haven’t been with us before, we may decline your appointment. It’s nothing personal-we have just reached our current client capacity
4) We appreciate you all SO much and can’t wait for summer fun in the sun! ☀️

Winter has officially arrived and so has Mother Nature’s least accommodating features. Good stormy morning and happy first day of school! Hoping you all had a wonderful and fun summer! We have a few announcements for you as we move into fall and the holiday season:

-We are happy to announce the addition of Miss Nicole to our team! She has helped us to catch up through the extremely busy summer and we look forward to you meeting her

-Beginning October 4th, we will be implementing a small price increase of $5-$10 across our services

-While we are catching up on our schedule, we are still booking out about a month in advance, so please set up your future appointments as soon as you are able to ensure we have spots for you-especially as we are approaching the holidays! (T-minus 11 weeks to Thanksgiving and 15 weeks to Christmas)

-Also, because we are catching up we will be starting to go through our new client list! While this is exciting, please be patient with us as we get a hold of you. Online booking will remain off for a little while longer as we reach out.

During this time as we all get on a recurring schedule, your patience is appreciated

-Our last word of business is to ask that you please be patient with us returning your messages. We try our best to return them by the end of the day, but some days we just run out of time
