NC Integrated Equine Services came into existences 23years ago when I started my journey into the world of Massage by taking the Professional Human 18 month course. I followed that up by going to FL to study Equine Sports Massage Therapy at Don Doran’s Equine Sports Massage Program. I always had in mind that I wanted to be able to help horses and their people become the best partners by eliminatin

g body soreness and compensatory patterns one or the other were carrying that were causing disharmony in the partnership. I have since taken many additional courses such as the Advanced Masterson Method, Acupressure, Trigger Point, Craniosacral Therapy, Myofacial Release. I also became a Reiki Master to enhance my toolbox so that I may be able to better help both horse and rider. The Reiki energy work is a gentle, effective method that allows me to access the animal on a deeper level without causing more inflammation or inducing pain receptors that could require time off. In December of 2014, I added a Portable Handheld Level 3, Infrared Laser as a tool to offer to clients to help increase circulation, reduce and eliminate acute and chronic pain, reduce inflammation and swelling, stimulate and improve nerve function, strengthen and repair bone and soft tissue as well as increase mobility and flexibility. I have attended multiple lectures with Master Saddle Makers and shadowed saddle fitters/re-flockers in order to gain a better understanding of saddle form and function so that I am able to perform saddle fit checks and help the owners, riders and trainers in gaining a new understanding to the importance of correct fit to not only keep the horse comfortable in their discipline but allow them to perform at their top ability when their backs and shoulders are not being pinched. I am also an accomplished rider, having shown successfully in Hunters and Jumpers as a Junior, then switching over to Dressage as an Adult and training her own horses thru Second Level.

New clients, EverReady Farm, contacted me while showing at the Warrenton Pony Show this week to come work on their Wynnbrook Rose Point who went on to become Champion Medium Pony, ridden by Eddyn Molden. Congratulations!

I received this very nice testimonial from a new client:

“My daughter's pony Bunny has always had some tight muscles, but my daughter became concerned when she started swapping her lead more than usual at a recent show. A friend told us about Nikki and the work she does. As Bunny is starting to be in heavier work, we decided to see if the bodywork would help her. Nikki came out the same day that I called her. She let us know that the first session would take longer and be more involved as it was the first time she was assessing Bunny. She also let my daughter know she would have homework when she was done. My daughter is very into knowing the mechanics of how her pony works for her, so this was an excellent educational experience for her. Nikki started work and found many tight muscles on Bunny, some in places we did not even know about. She then addressed the right hind and found a very tight set of muscles and worked on them. She showed my daughter stretches that she needed to do on Bunny before she jumps in her lessons and shows. We attended The Warrenton Pony show 2 days after her first session and Bunny did 3 divisions over 2 days. My daughter noticed a difference in Bunny's movement immediately. She said her hind was engaged more, all 3 gaits were smoother than before, she went around better in the right lead, was not jumping as hard as she has in the past, and was easier to keep her bend better throughout the courses. The pair ended up Champion and Grand Champion of the Large Children's Ponies and went on to win the VPBA division. As Bunny is getting ready to break her green for Pony Hunters next year she will be in heavier work than she has been in the past. I am so happy that we have found Nikki so we can give back to Bunny for all she does for my daughter. And keep her feeling good!”
