Operated out of Phoenix Ranch, Vacaville, we provide ranch visits, animal assisted learning & therapy, animal care & training lessons, pet laying hens, and adoption of rescued animals. We also have therapy dog registration workshops and certification, dog safety presentations, and presentations by "Maria the Parrot Lady".

Daisy our donkey amazes me. I have no idea how old she is. Multiple times over the years she gives me concerns that she has passed, only to reappear and bounce back. Her last sheep buddy passed a couple months ago. A fence fell over and I found her wandering the grounds of Phoenix Ranch 2. Sometimes I couldn't find her putting me into axquiet panic. This weekend she wandered into the katahdin territory while I was setting their breakfast. Since I can't make her do anything she doesn't want to do, so I fed here there. She walks gingerly from her laminitis Tonight she made her way all the way from the far pasture when the sheep came in for dinner. Was right with fozzie at the gate. Things like this make my day!

This morning I cut and gathered 6 bags of yellow star thistle ---without gloves! This week I cleared the horse pasture of a pickup load of artichoke thistle. Still have tumbleweed to tackle but took a break and treated myself to a splurge at my favorite toystore. Figured I deserved it!

Edith is our resident bottle beep (baby sheep). At long last, she has discovered solid food! Goldfish crackers, cheerios and cheese cereal for now. Hopefully she will eat real sheep food soon!
