Our Regal German Shepherd Dog, Denali passed today. Many on this island had the opportunity to meet and even get to know him. I want to acknowledge those who contributed to his rich life. Thank you, Mary Jaenicke for making the connection to bring him to us. Thank you to the many island children, he cherished your attention and you brought him the most joy. Thank you Sumner Ames for tending to his medical needs while I was traveling in SA. Thank you Tristan you’ve done more than I can list. Thank you Fia and David Bauer for caring for him in your multi-cat house while Wayne and I were traveling. Thank you Haydee & Hans for taking him in as your own.Thank you to Anna and Ken at Minglement, Megan and Adam at Snapdragon and the folks at Cafe Luna for allowing him to come hang out with us especially as he got too old to take long walks. Thank you to Zuzana and Sterling for the many hikes. Thank you to all the Vashon businesses that welcomed him in their stores. As the years progressed he became a better dog. And finally thank you to all our friends who have loved him welcomed him in your homes and just been there as support during this transition. We will miss him terribly. So grateful for the precious time.

Enjoying a little romp in the grass
You can learn so much watching the interactions of how dogs relate. Rottie, Blue, is clearly smitten with Athena and showing it in such a cute way. Feel free to share your observations.
By 4 pm the dogs are ready for a cooler place. Inside the kennel it’s 74 degrees without a/c. They came in and crashed!
Lucky is trying to engage Finn but hesitates to dip her toe in the water.
Athena loves playing with the younger dogs.
Amongst a group of dogs all meandering excitedly around him Cu so obediently sits and downs on Command. He’s only six months old. His family is so dedicated to him being a great dog this is what has come out of even this level of distraction. I congratulate them on all their good work.
Waylon, the hound of course, is one of the old men of the group. He’s been coming since he was a pup. Yesterday he showed a little of his playful side with puppy Cu. He went home tired.
Bodhi & Blue
I could watch these two all day long. I let this video go on for as long as I did because I just think these two are so adorable together. I hope you enjoyed as much as I do. This is Bodhi and Blue.
New Puppy
This little guy arrived absolutely terrified noticed the tail down in this Video.
Tuesday March 24th still receiving dogs for daycare. Hoping my message to our governor will prove fruitful and allow me to stay open to provide this service. In the meantime I’m getting lots of projects done around here.
Kelo Got everybody running on this magnificently sunny day outside at Nw Canine Connection. We would like to encourage our Vashon community to bring their dogs out for a day of play.
