We actively particpate in Trapping, Sterilizng, and Vaccinating feral and free roaming cats in the Uintah Basin. We can provide information on free/low cost spay and neuter vouchers through Best friends Animal Society for use at participating vets. We also rescue and foster adoptable kittens and cats and the occasional dog. Please check out our adoptable kitties.

This beautiful lady, Rosa, was returned after her adopter passed away. Her whole world turned upside down and she’s hoping to find another home where she can be the queen bee.

Rosa does ok with other cats, but prefers her space. Dogs could be introduced to her as long as they are calm and don’t try to chase or play with her.

Rosa is the purrfect blend of affectionate and independent.

We did a little trapping this past week for some kitties in Duchesne. It was over 8 hours in drive time going back and forth from Vernal but we caught 9 total- 7 were female! Thank you to the staff and doctors at Countryside Vet for taking excellent care of these kitties!

Ashley Valley Community Cats began in 2012 with one mission: to protect and care for the cats no one else would. Thanks to your support, we helped transform our local shelter from 90% kill to 90% no-kill — a remarkable shift, especially in a small rural Utah town.

But the work didn’t end when the spotlight faded.

Today, we’re still caring for over 60 unadoptable or special-needs cats — cats that someone else dumped, discarded, or gave up on. Many of them will live the rest of their lives with us, safe and loved in the sanctuary of our home.

We’ve stepped out of the public eye, but we’ve never stepped away from our mission.
We’re still here. Still cleaning litter boxes. Still funding vet visits. Still sacrificing our home and income to care for the cats we promised to protect.

And we still take back every cat adopted from us — no matter how long it’s been.
Just this year, we’ve taken in cats returned after 5, 8, even 10 years.
Because that’s the promise we made, and we intend to keep it.

But because we’re no longer constantly posting or actively taking in new cats, the public support has dwindled — even as the daily work continues.

If we ever made a difference in your life or your community —
If you ever felt proud knowing our town went no-kill, please know that your support still saves lives. It just looks different now.

Theo and Millie are still available for adoption! Their adoption fee is waived and they are already fixed and microchipped!

Theo and Millie are also coming back due to no fault of their own. We are looking for a home for them where they can stay together. Adoption fee is already paid. Here is what their previous owner says about them:

Theo is an orange tabby, he's very friendly and loves to snuggle and talk to you, Millie is a very shy calico she likes to cuddle at bedtime when it’s quiet. They love to play with eachother, they hunt and wrestle eachother. They are great with each other and kids. They have been around kids as young as 1.
