We have partnered with Black Hawk County Conservation to show case the urban pollination program. They have placed a butterfly house at Zoo and we will be having monarchs hatching with in the next week. Please come out and see them as they are developing. Admission is free the only cost is if you want to feed the animals and donations are greatly appreciated!

We will be CLOSED on July 4th. We want to let everyone enjoy the holiday and keep the animals relaxed before the fireworks start. THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH!

It was nice to see all the community support at the Iowa Woo Arena League Football tonight. All the animals could hear the roar of the crowd. Come out early to tailgate at the next home game and stop by the Sunrise Children’s Zoo.

Thank you to Amy Rousselow and Jillian Rutledge from the Waterloo Public Library for speaking to the Sunrise Exchange Club this morning. If you have not been to your public library lately- I would suggest to make a point to go! Did you know you can get a FREE family day to get into places like the Blank Park Zoo or the Grout Museum and many more; with the Adventure Pass. Yet another amazing place to make WATERLOO GREAT!

It was a beautiful fall night last night at the Zoo. The Sunrise Exchange Club members were out to put things away for the winter. Sunrise Exchange is striving to make the Cedar Valley a great place to raise families! If you want to be apart of this let us know and we will get you plugged in!

This morning the Sunrise Exchange Club received the gift of listening to Jim Koch from the Cattle Congress! Wow! There is some very exciting things on the horizon for that place - and we can’t wait to be part of it!

Now that the Zoo is closed for the season, the Sunrise Exchange Club continues to meet and encourage those in our great community!
A very important meeting is when we get to listen to our ACE (Accepting The Challenge of Excellence) winners through Expo High School.
This weeks winner left us with words like this from her essay “I love helping people because it makes me feel good inside” and Maya Angelou’s quote “When people show you who they are, believe them”.
Find someone to encourage today - the impact matters and will return back to you!

Last morning at the Zoo for the animals. Thank you to everyone who visited the Zoo this year we are closed for the 2023 season. A huge thank you to all of our volunteers, financial supporters, and workers!
