Happy Holidays from South Shore Animal Hospital! We will be closed Friday, December 24th & Saturday the 26th for Christmas Celebrations. We are always closed Sundays.

Message from Owner: Please help bring this baby back hme! He is missed by his owner dearly. He is a loving happy boy that will respond to his name when called. Very playful and sweet. Thank you all for your help and cooperation. His name is Trick Daddy, but he will respond to Tricky.

Description: Tricky aka trick daddy is a tri-color Jack Russell terrier with a coat that is kind of wiry. Tricky weighs about 13 pounds and is 1 year old, with short/floppy ears and was last seen wearing a blue leather collar and blue bow tie with anchors on it. Tricky was last seen around 33470, Van Gohn Blvd area on 08/27/2021 estimated time 6:30pm

We are a full service small animal hospital offering wellness, surgical and dental services to dogs and cats. We are seeking an experienced technician, who is knowledgeable and confident in animal restraint techniques, kennel care and cleanliness, customer service, and basic animal husbandry principles. Some experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, proper lab equipment operation, surgical monitoring, and vaccination protocols are also expected. Computer literacy is required, and experience with Impromed software is a big plus. Bilingual not required but valued. Weekend duties are required. Please be an independent, hard worker with a pleasant personality, a true love of animals and a willingness to learn. Attitude and dependability are paramount. We are a small, tight knit group who strive to create a friendly work atmosphere. We can't wait to hear from you!

Happy Monday to our South Shore Family! It has been an adventure for the last six months as we have transitioned to a new team. We truly love the individuals that have been added to this team and encourage you to meet every & each one of us! Our bio's are located on our website and we all look forward to continuing the relationships established with our clientele. We have three veterinary nurses on board: Gina, Mandy and Lindsey. We recently added a receptionist (bio to soon come!), named Jenna. Our Practice Manager, Alycia, is here to listen to all of your concerns and create a fulfilling veterinary experience.

Announcing “virtual visits”! We are excited to announce that effective immediately, we are offering telemedicine for our established clients! We understand many people would rather not leave home- but need care for their pet who is ill. Specifically, certain conditions that Dr Forbes MAY be able accurately diagnose via phone conversation, texting, pictures sent via text or email, or live FaceTime chat- can be handled without an actual office visit. The charge for this service is our normal, routine office visit charge. Rechecks, as always, are free of charge. Obviously, we need everyone to be aware that not EVERY illness can be diagnosed or treated using this method- but many can. If medication is needed as part of the treatment plan, we will be able to provide that via prescription or medication dispensed at the clinic. We consider ourselves quite technologically adept- so we look forward to helping you in this way during our normal business hours. Give us a call anytime for more information, or to schedule an electronic consultation with Dr Forbes. Offering this creative, helpful option is just another way we can assure that all of our loyal clients and their pets are well cared for during the pandemic. Love and health to all of you!

Greetings to all! Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we will be changing the way we see appointments for the next several weeks. Please bear in mind we will remain open as an "essential business" throughout this ordeal, although we will be closing earlier than usual on TUESDAY evenings-our usual hours are until 8 pm on this day, but we will be closing at 6 pm until further notice. In addition, we will close at NOON on Saturdays (instead of our traditional 2:00 closing time on this day). We will continue to offer our normal business hours until we can no longer. Remember that we are closed Sundays, and only open 8-12 Wednesdays for phone calls, medication pickups, etc. Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday we will be here 8-6, and on Saturdays, 8-12:00.

If your pet needs to be seen, please give us a call for an appointment- at that time we will explain our new visit policy- which includes asking you to call us from your car when you arrive. A technician will then come to your vehicle, obtain the important medical history, and take your pet inside for Dr. Forbes to examine. Next, we will communicate a treatment plan with you via phone- and then proceed with your permission. We are also asking that you allow us to take credit card payments over the phone.

When your pet is ready to be discharged form our care, a technician will bring your pet back to your vehicle, and offer a paper receipt for your visit.

If you are in need of medication refills, please CALL FIRST so that we can have the medication ready and will be able to deliver it to your vehicle when you arrive.

We love this cool and refreshing weather- but just a warning! Be careful not to let your dogs investigate or consume any iguanas that may fall from trees due to the cold weather. Doing so may cause botulism in dogs, which is life threatening. Careful out there! Sounds comical, but it’s not- watch out for falling iguanas!!
