Meet Guapo ❤️

Guapo is a beautiful, sweet, loving and affectionate boy.

He is a total lapdog. Great with children and adults. He has done well with another calm dog at his previous foster home. It just takes a little time for him to get used to being with a new friend, though his sweet sensitive self prefers to be an only pup.

He is approximately 3 years old weighs about 70 lbs, is neutered, vaccinated, microchipped and heartworm negative!

This sweet dog is in foster home and looking for a furever home

Sinclaire is a very sweet and intelligent dog that I have ever met. She is careful with babies and small children, likes to play with big or small dogs. I haven’t seen her interact with cats but has never shown any aggression. Sinclaire is crate and potty trained but sleeps upstairs with us on her bed. She is up to date on vaccines until 5/26. Sinclaire was rescued by us from a home that we believed abused her especially the man in the house, she becomes very nervous and hides when men come around and barely trusts my husband but will let him bathe her and pet her only when i’m around. Sinclaire lots of attention and love, she does not chew on shoes or clothing unless it was put into her cage as a blanket.

We received a request for helping with finding a home for this dog.
Let us know if you can help.

Need help finding a place to intake this loving dog. I am not able to keep him and take care of him the way he deserves. He is 1.5yrs old and just needs some to give him the attention he needs.

I am only able to keep him for another day or two before my husband is going to take him back to the animal shelter. I am trying to prevent that from happening again and was looking for an immediate solution. My husband was impulsive and tried to help a friend who didn't want him but got over his head. From what we know Dillenger was just adopted in Oct 2022 so he has all his vacs and is on flea meds. I have had him now 4 days and so far no immediate problems. He is just very energetic, playful as a puppy should be. No aggressive behavior. Seems to be ok with other adults. Not sure with other dogs, cats or kids? He does seem to have anxiety issues as he does not like being left alone in the back yard. In his open cage he is good and does not bark.

Please share to help Milo (FKA Cookie/Homie) find the loving forever home he needs & so deserves.

Milo is ~2.5 years old, 50 pounds, loves people (which is amazing considering how he was treated in the past), knows basic obedience (is a top notch listener), and wins best smile ever.

Milo loves the outdoors almost as much as he loves his people. He finds comfort in the spaces he calls home with the people he loves and trusts. He loves to explore the world, but likes to be able to head back to the safety of his home base if something frightens him.

OCAS confiscated Milo last summer; he was tied up outside in inhumane conditions. When the shelter mandatory neutered him, his owners said “the dog means nothing to him once neutered” and officially discarded him at the shelter. Like many dogs, Milo struggled at the shelter, and found himself in danger of euthanasia until Wimper’s Pet Rescue rescued him at the 11th hour.

Because he had some things to learn and adjust to living inside a home, which became apparent in his initial foster home, Milo went to Board & Train for some basic obedience and home manners. The trainer reported that his favorite obedience skill is recall because he wants to be with you. She called him a happy-go-lucky dude & a happy character to share some fun with.

An ideal home would be with someone who works from home who can provide physical & mental enrichment and slowly and incrementally get Milo comfortable with longer departures. Someone who will be patient as he adjusts to a new home & life indoors. Milo says a backyard would be amazing too, but mostly he wants to love & be loved.

Milo needs to be an only dog, but he’s all the dog you’ll need!

He has redirected well away from other dogs out on walks, but does go on alert. If he can flee, he usually opts for that (and heads straight “home”), but he has been in altercations where he felt the need to defend himself and did so.

Would recommend seeking help from a qualified professional if you want to try and get him comfortable around other dogs, but would need to be okay if that doesn’t happen.

Milo is very smart and attentive. He loves treats and is a joy to explore and train with. He also loves to give and receive affection. 🥰

At Wimper's Pet Rescue our heart's desire is to help fosters and adopters not only provide love to the dogs we are serving but to also empower and equip them in giving dog's the leadership and guidance they also deserve in order to thrive in balance and harmony with their fosters and adopters.

Today I had the privilege and honor to help Crispin and his new fosters have a successful meet and greet with Crispin and their dog Nero. I was able to make the assessments needed and provide instructions to his new fosters so that they can get off to a good start with him.

I will continue to help them with Crispin so that together we can increase his chances and potential of adoptability. I love what I have seen and can say already that he is a great candidate to be adopted.

Thank you Katie and Jessica for the parts you have played to make today happen for Crispin. You guys rock!

Sweet Elle needs surgery. Elle came to us from Orange County Animal Services (OCAS) with a bad neck wound and weighed only 22 pounds. While she is slowly putting the weight back on her neck wound has not improved.

Boomer was rescued from euthanasia in July, but his rescue story is not complete: he is still looking for his forever home! He would also benefit from a new foster home in the meantime, or even better, a foster-to-adopt home. 😊

Boomer is a handsome, active, and intelligent 65 pounds of puppy. He is estimated to be 1.5 years old and the rescue believes him to be a Vizsla and Red Nose Pitbull mix. He loves exploring outside, puzzle games, and watching doggy tv with music during his chill time.

He needs an experienced guardian and someone kind, patient, and confident who is willing to work with him on his still-present puppy behaviors including some jumping and heavy mouthing when he gets over-excited/tired/stimulated.

Boomer needs someone who will give him a chance and teach him about domestic life with humans. He really likes them, is super smart, and wants to interact, but needs some guidance on how to do so. He would be an amazing dog for someone who likes to explore the outdoors, train, and do puzzle games with their dog. He would make a fantastic hiking buddy!

Boomer’s ideal family has a yard, no other pets for now, and no small children (due to the jumping/mouthing). He would benefit from lots of physical and mental enrichment time with humans who love him!

He is dog-selective and does seem to really want to learn how to play with other dogs if they respect his personal space, but needs some coaching, care, and close monitoring on this. And he can be defensive around dogs he doesn’t know, especially if they come on strong.

He does struggle with crate-confinement so a small dog-proof room or baby-gated space in the house would be recommended over a crate for him during down times.

Boomer has had a tough life so far; let’s get him into a safe, stable, and loving forever home where he can grow, get the mental and physical enrichment he needs, and be loved for the intelligent, handsome, explorative dog he is.
