Caswell County Emergency Services is proud to announce Alan Poteat as the first recipient of the Wendy Wiseman Employee of the Year. Wendy Wiseman was an employee of Caswell County Emergency Services for eight years. Wendy passed away unexpectedly on March 9, 2020. This award was named after Wendy for her passion and dedication to EMS and Caswell County along with her sincere strive to go above and beyond the call of duty. We were excited to have Wendy’s daughter, Glenna Wiseman to present the award.

Alan Poteat is a veteran EMS Health Care Provider that has been with Caswell County Emergency Services most of his adult life. Alan has a wife, who is a school teacher in Caswell County and a son who followed his father’s footsteps and also entered the field of saving lives as a professional firefighter. Alan and his family make their home in Caswell County.

Alan has always prided himself in helping others in any way possible whether it be while on an ambulance or a simple phone call asking for his help. Alan has never met a stranger and always brings with him a smile and a will to get the job done. On numerous occasions you will find Alan, off duty, helping out around the EMS base or a project within Emergency Management. Alan’s patient care is a reflection of his character which is kind, empathetic, and personable.
We congratulate Alan for receiving this award and commend him on his dedication to Caswell County Emergency Services and the citizens of Caswell County.
