We aren’t sure Spencer would like to watch the sunset with anyone more than he does Kim. ❤️🖤❤️
Kim is the volunteer (her family as well) that found Spencer when he needed rescue. Clearly they did everything they could back then and here is Spencer today still with Kim by his side.

A week from today, we would like to open the farm to the public for the solar eclipse!
We have a large, unobstructed view on top of Chestnut Hill where our farm sits and would like to offer it to the community for viewing.
We will open the gates at 2:00pm. Please be sure to bring appropriate eyewear for the viewing and you’re welcome to bring chairs, snacks and drinks. 113 Chestnut Hill Road. Fingers crossed for good weather.

April’s volunteer of the month is Maureen Donoghue Morin! Maureen has been with us for over 4 years now but it feels like she has been with us longer than that (in all the good ways).
Maureen is the amazing shift leader on Saturday PM’s where she has built an outstanding team! Her team would tell you themselves that she is amazing with every single one of them. They all think she is a great example of what being a wonderful volunteer is and is a great teacher for them all. She is always so positive and patient with them all. Not to mention her sense of humor that keeps everyone on their toes! 😂
Maureen doesn’t just do Saturday PM’s. She helps on a couple early weekday mornings regularly before work starts as well. As if that wasn’t enough she is always someone who steps up to pick up numerous extra shifts and responsibilities when able.
Maureen also has been a huge help in our fundraising for the farm! Most recently she was a “Celebrity Bartender” at a local restaurant where she and another volunteer raised over $2000 for the farm! She also has successfully taken over running our annual golf tournament!!
Maureen, thank you so much for all you do for CDHR! Your contributions do not go unnoticed! It truly takes a team effort and you’re such a big part of that! Thank you for your dedication, reliability, love and compassion!

Psssss…Sam here. I caught a glimpse of our supplement closet today and it is looking a little slim.
I thought I’d collect a few of my personal favorite supplements in case someone would like to send us some to stock up our closet.
Being a rescue, many of us have special needs and use supplements daily to make us the healthiest we can be.

We are so excited to announce a very special adoption!!!
Remember how we just shared with you all that Stella has been adopted?!? Well, we were holding on to a little secret. Chris, Stella’s adoptive Mom wanted to be sure Stella was all settled in and doing well before she returned to the rescue to bring Benji home too!!!!
This past Wednesday Chris returned and brought Benji home to join Stella and the rest of her herd!
It takes someone special to adopt a rescue horse- it takes someone EXTRA special to adopt two!
We are so very happy that Benji is home and wish him all the happy trials with Stella and family! ❤️
