Sometimes it gets a bit hectic. Everydog wants cuddles and you only have two hands. But we manage. They all get along so well. Once they get it, that they are part of a pack, it just flows.

This is Klara. A regular customer. We go to her mum's home and she gets the spa treatment. I put a little ear hoodie on to reduce the sound of the dryer, which sometimes unsettles them.

And there is always a Scooby. This fella came to stay by us for 2 months while his parents find a pet friendly home. That was last year September 2022. It is now April 2023. His dad said that he cannot keep him. We fell in love. And now. I guess he is ours. Weighing in at 45 kgs. His hobbies are: super loud barking at people, cats, dogs or a leaf falling from a tree. He's got big ears so he has supersonic hearing. He also has not got the 'my space, your space thing". So he will stomp down on your feet, knock you over and the look semi guilty. I guess he is going to stay. So. He is going for training. Oh dear. I, looking at indemnity forms.

Luna the majestic Samoyed. She's been our client for 3 years. Ginormous, gentle and a lot of work. It takes about an hour and a half to brush, wash and dry her. Always a pleasure.

Oi! When a Pittbul tries to lick you to death. Dogboarding and walking 7 critters (Pittie, Africanis, Pittie x, Husky, Sausage d, Pug, Labbie, etc). We all just squash into the bakkie and off we go for the next adventure.: sea, mountain quarry or park.

Ok no. Not fond of shaving rabbits. I had to undress this sweetie. Look at the mat! They get stressed. I get stressed. But sometimes you just have to: the owners have been away, or its a rescue rabbit, or the owners are just oblivious to the fact that there is a mini Bob Marley in their garden. Funny but not. Rabbits' skins are super thin. Once the hair mats and bonds with the skin with the help of sweat, rain and sand, it is impossible to brush out. So a shave it is. It looks ugly. It's unnatural. It is unsafe (they need their hair for protection from the sun), and its just negligent. So kind people, a rabbit is not just for Easter. They can live up to 15 years! Brush them. Cut their nails. Clean their ears! Or if you're too lazy ...call me.

This is little Lily. She broke my heart. It's not even my dog. Lily belonged to a client who asked me to take care of her till the end... The owner had massive personal issues and couldn't cope. So Lily stayed with us for 2 years. She was 17/18. Size of a dinner plate and would tell a Pitbull which next train to take if he comes near her food or mommy (me). She had heart problems, trachea problems, kidneys failing etc. She loved her walks but her vet said 'no walk', I made her a papoose and we walked! She loved every sniff. Time came. Her vet (appointed by owner) said she has to be Put to sleep asap. I was gutted. I needed a second opinion. This vet said she is still ok as long as she is eating and her tail is wagging. I was torn.Her tail was wagging but she was not really eating. I had to hand feed. I had to make THAT decision. A week later she died under the needle and in my arms. I have had to PTS many animals in my life...but this one ...this shook me. RIP my sweet Lily. Always in my heart.

Here's Patches. I've been grooming this fella for almost 3 years. Sweetie patootie and when he's fed up he bites or kicks but it doesn't work 'cause he's too cute and he does it too gently. I thin out his coat, do a bit of a bum trim, take out the knots and cut his nails. Ladies...I trim half a centimeter from Patches' nails every 7 weeks... You gotta eat your carrots gals.

Bulldogs will be Bulldogs. Swinging in the love seat, snoozing together, causing a mess in the kiddies pool or faceplanting on the cool kitchen floor. These two teenagers boarded with us for a few weeks. Items destroyed: 3 flip flops, 2 soft toys, a mop and a wooden chair. We still love them.

Sam is one of our regular dog boarders. He is a golden oldie and a real sweetheart. He doesn't run, he gallops like a pony. Sam loves long mountain walks, cuddles and sleeping on cold floors! Bit weird. We love having him around.

We also try to be the best we can. Rescued this kitty from Epping, Cape Town. She was super thin, dehydrated, tired. I took her home. My dogs where not impressed. A month later a found her the perfect home. And she is all fat and sassy now.

Ok. Its not the best photo. Don't judge. Have you ever tried to hold a hedgehog in one hand and try to take a photo of it with cellphone. Its a prickly affair. I had to take this sweety to the specialist vet. Hedgehog's name is Picket. They had to amputate his back leg. But, he is doing very well now.
