Trails are fully open and running. We working on removing the odd tree 🌲 but mostly trails held up great thanks to The Trails Company epic work. Still slippery so always check sections before you ride at your normal speed and ride in pairs or a group.

Winter Riding: We love riders out on the trails but please take extra caution!
- We do our best but heavy rains and wind can cause damage and trees to blow over before we get out to address.
- Don’t ride alone. Let people know where you are riding.
- Tracks may be very slippery even after a few days of sun, especially places that are in the shade a lot. Even fire roads
- Always take your cell phone for emergencies.
- Look nice and far ahead when riding

New for 2022 and Annual Permits

We are excited to announce and launch the long-overdue Wine lands Local and Regional Permit that will allow its holders access to a multitude of world class trails in five iconic areas stretching from Grabouw, Somerset West, Stellenbosch, Jonkershoek and then over the mountains towards Paarl, Wellington and Franschhoek.

Local board:
This allows for trail access on: A2Z (Grabouw) / Helderberg Farm / Wine Lands Cycling Club. Membership will be valid from 1 December 2021 to 31 December 2022.

Regional board :
Wine Lands Cycling Club have negotiated with Stellenbosch Trail Fund (STF), MTO (Jonkershoek) and the Paarl, Wellington, Franschhoek and Banhoek Conservancy trails to have one regional MTB permit for 2022. All of these trail networks have relied on membership / permit fees being paid in order to grow and maintain the trail networks. The result of this has meant that until now a mountain biker typically had to have numerous permits in order to access the different trail networks. Going forward, you will only have to buy one permit to ride all the trails in the region. This is a significant saving on membership to those that want to ride other trail networks.

*Helderberg Farm Trails* ANNOUNCEMENT

Day Permits - only allowed from time of purchase until 17:00 !

Annual Permits - only allowed from sunrise to sunset. Valid from day of purchase until 31st of December.

Best is to spread the word and rather get a year permit if you ride a few times and want to ride from Sunrise to Sunset.

PLEASE PLEASE only ride on the actual marked MTB routes.

Landowners are having issues with people riding and running off the trails.

Let’s not mess it up for us all.

Please be sure to always carry your permit with you when accessing the trails.

ANNOUNCEMENT: Sorry we are closed on Friday 2nd April. Please don't take advantage but these are the landowners wishes. Gates will be closed from Thurs afternoon till Sat morning. Trails open again on Sat.
