We believe that the mare is of as much significance in breeding as the stallion. We therefore take embryo transplants from our competing mares, so as not to disrupt their career. Our mares are extremely successful in competition, proving that they have the talent needed to pass on to their offspring, as well as the temperament needed to cope with this career. Mossandi Radient, our founding mare, i
s the 2015 South African Medium Dressage Champion, ridden by Calet de Vos; as well as the 2015 Medium Freestyle SA Champion, and the 2015 KZN Medium Champion. Freulevrouwe, our second mare, is KWPN bred and registered, and is the first ‘BORDEAUX’ horse to be imported into South Africa. The babies live out with their mothers in a herd, on a large farm, in the Kzn Midlands. They self-wean, and then stay on in their known yearling herd. They return to the stud between the ages of 2 and 3, join a smaller herd, and start their training. We keep the numbers of babies limited each year, so that we can provide intensive, one on one, work. They start with work on the ground, and via Natural Horsemanship, are exposed to all demands that might be made on them, in a safe and interesting way. They are entered in in-Hand Showing classes, and gradually introduced to all ridden requirements. They hack out with an older horse. They are extremely well-balanced youngsters, both physically, and emotionally.
