Attention all rabbit owners!!
Unfortunately RHD virus(Rabbit Haemorragic Disease) has been confirmed in South Africa. We urge all rabbit owners to familiarize themselves with the symptoms, preventative methods and precautions to take. As far as we are aware cases have been diagnosed in the Western and Northern Cape so far.

We confirm that we have had a positive rabies case in a dog living in the Saxonwold/Parkview area that was initially picked up in the Thembisa/Chloorkop/Modderfontein area a month ago.

There is no direct risk to your pets, but we would advise boosting your pets rabies vaccinations if they have not had one in the past year.
