We have teamed up with Woodrock Animal Rescue, Paws R Us: SA, and Maltese, French Poodle & Yorkie Rescue South Africa to gain insight into canine and feline parasites.

So far 68 dogs have been tested at no charge to the shelters - see image for exact results.

We will be retesting all the infected dogs and we are super excited to see the results as this will determine whether resistance to dewormers is occurring, as is the case with horses.

Dung Beetles, A rarity these days!

One of our long standing clients in Muldersdrift posted this video which we thought we would share. This is evidence of a yard that does not routinely deworm without testing/diagnosis. Ivermectin is poisonous to Dung Beetles. So it is really exciting to see these two thriving!

Tapeworm in a 3.5 month old goat causes it to lose weight, become paralysed and sadly pass away...

Gastrodiscus - easy to test, easy to treat - but don't leave it too late!

Meet Star. After spending a fortune trying to fathom out how to get Star to pick up condition, which had dropped suddenly, Star's owner was advised to have Star tested for gastrodiscus. So Star's p**p was sent from Dullstroom to Worm-Ex Lab, where, sure enough, we found 63 gastrodiscus eggs. Worm-Ex Lab supplied the treatment, together with strict instructions on how to treat and what to look for. Just two months later, Star's owner sent us these pics of before treatment and how Star looks now. This is what makes studying horse p**p all worth while!
