This week, our Pet of the Week is….Fletcher

Fletcher is the sweetest and cuddliest little guy. He adores snuggle time, and will get right into the lap of his sitters when he gets the chance, pushing his face into theirs whilst asking for love. Meeting Fletcher always includes a warm welcome at the door, lots of chats, and company while doing the daily chores. He’s often such close company that cleaning the litter tray isn’t always easy, and sometimes his sitters will have to make a run for it while he is distracted by eating his food.

Fletcher loves, loves, loves treats. He knows where they are kept and will take you there while asking for them. Fletcher also knows how to make super cute and irresistible eyes, just in case you weren't persuaded yet to give any. Once chores and food are done it's cuddle time, and he will sit on your lap and not let you leave (he gives THE best snuggles). All our sitters absolutely adore you, sweet Fletcher,.

This week, our pet of the week is….Rex

Rex is incredibly sweet, has the most loving and fun energy, and is super kind. When arriving, Rex is always found waiting at the door to give you the most warm welcome. He will follow you around everywhere, staying close for a good chat, and asking for cuddles. Rex also loves food, and will steal treats from his fur sibling if he gets the chance. Even though he does steal her treats, he is a true gentleman, and even when his fur sister has a bit of attitude with him, he will not respond. We love you sweet Rex

Fast Facts by our canine behaviourist Heleen, this time the topic is: Prey Drive

All dogs have a predatory motor pattern that they follow. This is a sequence of behaviours that they act out in their natural hunting methods. The way these sequences are performed varies by breed depending on what they were originally bred to do. For example, border collies love to stalk and to chase things, retrievers love to chase after and hold items, terriers love to tear things apart.

Performing these behaviours release dopamine inside the brain, so we should encourage it!
A dog that doesn’t have safe opportunities to do these things they were bred for, is likely going to find their own way to fulfil that drive. This might include stealing your socks, pulling apart your favourite cushion or herding the children.

So what can we do?

We can provide safe and appropriate outlets for our dogs to perform the behaviours they want to perform.
Your dog likes to watch, stalk and chase things? Play with a flirt pole! Your dog likes to chase and grab things? Play fetch! Your dog likes to destroy stuff? Give him a paper bag, filled with more paper and let him shred it!

This week, our Pets of the Week are…..Snupi & Sonya

Aren’t Snupi and Sonya adorable together? Visits with this cute duo always make our day, and the bum wiggles of them will put a smile on anyone’s face. Sweet little Sonya is easy-going and also super smart. When the lead comes out, she will go to her bed and twist and turn her little head around until she gets a treat. Only after that, she is willing to let you put the lead on. Snupi is the cute little boss, and he is always ready to go for a walk. If he could, he would open the door himself. Sonya & Snupi, we love taking care of you.

Paw Pals is an established pet care service provider in Dubai, offering a range of pet-friendly services including dog walking, pet sitting, pet transport/relocation and more to busy residents in Dubai.

We are looking to hire weekday dog walking/pet sitting staff for the following areas:

- Al Qudra
- Silicon Oasis/The Villa/Liwan/Downtown
- Umm Sequim/Jumeirah

The role involves taking care of various animals in the client's home.

For this role, you need to:

* Love animals of all shapes, sizes and textures.

* Having experience with animals and their behavior is a must. We look after various animal species and animals with various backgrounds. This includes animals that are rescued and might have behavior "difficulties".

* Fluent English speakers preferred (as customers needs must be met and communication with customers is essential)

* Must have own car

* All ages above 21 years are welcome to apply.

The working hours will vary and depend on the clients needs. Flexibility is essential.

The salary will be 4000/5000 AED per month depending on hours; 40 calendar days AL inclusive of PH.

This week, our Pet of the Week is……Mimi

Mimi is just great. This lovely lady always greets her sitters at the door, and will supervise closely when they do the daily chores. She can appreciate a good head scratch and loves games that involve chasing toys. She also gets referred to as Ms. Speedy as she is super fast. Mimi gets her food served in toy mice, which is a great way of providing her with enrichment, and to prevent boredom.
