I feel very honoured to be working with "Until We Meet Again" Pet Memorial Ceremonies.
I met Kate and her family when they were going through the difficult decision of euthanasia after their handsome boy Nitro was diagnosed with terminal cancer.
For Kate ‘Until We Meet Again’ has been a project in the works for some time. After been on her journey with Nitro it has reaffirmed to her the importance of honoring not only your beloved pet but your relationship with you pet and your grief. Pet Memorials are an extension of her Funeral Celebrant work and she hopes to bring the same peace and comfort to the Fur-Families she gets the privilege to serve and support.

Who is Dr Amy and why Fur Ever and Always. Dr. Amy Andrews, the compassionate founder of Fur Ever and Always, is a devoted veterinarian with a deep love for animals and a heartwarming family by her side. Alongside her partner Tim and daughter Sophia, they share their home with a beloved cat named Pumpkin, who holds a special place in their hearts.
Before pursuing her passion for veterinary care, Dr. Amy served as a registered nurse in hospitals, gaining valuable experience in providing comfort and support to patients and their families during difficult times. This background has shaped her approach to pet care, as she understands the importance of empathy and compassion in every step of the journey.
Dr. Amy's motivation to start Fur Ever and Always stemmed from her desire to offer a more peaceful and dignified alternative for pets during their final moments. Recognizing the stress and anxiety that clinic visits can cause, she wanted to provide a service that allowed pets to pass in the familiar surroundings of their own home, surrounded by the love of their family.
At Fur Ever and Always, Dr. Amy ensures that every aspect of the service is tailored to the individual needs of each pet and their family. She takes the time to listen to their stories, understand their fears, and answer any questions they may have, offering reassurance and support throughout the process.
The well-being of both pets and their human companions is Dr. Amy's top priority, and she strives to create an environment of trust and understanding. 🐾 ❤️ It’s ok to grieve, it’s ok to feel pain, it’s ok to feel a loss. Allow yourself time to sit with your feelings and heal. Continue to take comfort in knowing that you gave your pet a much loved life and that you were there for them at the end 🐾 ❤️ 🌈

Our pets and four legged friends are more than pets, they are family. This is why saying goodbye is such a difficult thing. In the event that euthanasia is a decision you are faced with these may be some things you can do to prepare yourselves and them; Give extra love, spend quality time, make lasting memories by visiting their favourite spots, give them their favourite foods, be ok with expressing your emotions, take photos. When the time comes, you’ll know that you gave them the best love and care that you could during their lifetime.

Making a decision to euthanasia your beloved pet can be one of the most challenging and difficult choices you may face. So when is the right time? Some pets become debilitated by age or disease to a point where their quality of life deteriorates and a decision may need to be made. Before making that decision it is important to seek counsel with your regular veterinarian as quality of life may improve through treatment such as arthritis medication, to name just one example. When you have done all you can and you need to make a decision but you are uncertain or do not ‘know’ when the ‘right’ time is you can use a tool like the lap of love quality of life scale. It can help to look at your pets life in a more objective way and help you make this difficult decision. Once you have made the decision I will help you navigate the next steps in your home environment.

How old is you cat in human years? It is important to know the life stage that your cat is at so when they transition into their mature years you can prepare yourself for any age-related health issues that may occur. Did you know the oldest cat in the world was Crème Puff who passed away at 38 years old. In the last few decades cats life expectancies have increased dramatically. Although it’s never enough, so whatever age your feline friend is make sure to give them a great big hug.
