Did you know we hire out laser for owners to use on their pets at home?

Laser therapy may help treat pets with a variety of conditions including pain, inflammation, injury, stiffness, osteoarthritis, post-orthopaedic surgery, rehabilitation, skin conditions, wounds, and infection, including hotspots and lick granuloma.

The super pulsed laser is designed to deliver a combination of wavelengths of infra-red, red, and blue light. These frequencies can be changed according to what condition is being treated e.g. a frequency of 1000Hz benefits the patient by increasing blood flow, improving circulation, accelerating healing time and decreasing inflammation and pain. The 1000Hz frequency is also used for laser acupuncture.

If you think your pet would benefit from laser therapy at home we encourage you to contact Vitality Vetcare. We look forward to hearing from you!

We are open Tuesday-Thursday, 10am-6pm AEDT, Bangalow NSW (02) 6687 0675 or [email protected]

We have 5% off all Fish & Chicken combination, Lamb, & Beef Organic Paws food!

Simulating a carnivore’s natural raw meat diet, Organic Paws Recipes are complete & balanced meals suitable for cats & dogs of all ages.

Cats are true carnivores, meaning that they need a source of animal protein to thrive & survive. In the wild, cats eat the carcases of the prey animals they hunt, which consist of raw meat, bones & organs. They also consume a small amount of the vegetable matter contained in the gut of their prey.

Dogs are hunter-scavengers, dogs have evolved over thousands of years to eat raw prey. They eat a (raw) carcass starting with the organs, including the gut contents, which is masticated & partially digested plant matter, then move onto muscle & other soft tissues. They start to chew the bones when eating soft tissues & then finish the remaining bones. Wild dogs eat a very varied diet based on hunted & scavenged ruminant & small mammal carcases & scavenged eggs, fruit, berries, nuts, roots, grasses & other plants.

Made with Certified Organic meats, ground bone & organs including green tripe, each Organic Paws recipe is complete to simulate a carnivore’s natural diet. Using “whole” carcasses including whole chickens & all prime cuts i.e., porterhouse, sirloin, topside steak, & rumps etc. ensures only nutritious quality muscle meat is used with no fatty trim or off cuts. Cod Liver Oil & Kelp are also added to each recipe in balanced quantities, both well-known & documented for their overall & powerful health benefits.

Organic Paws recipes are biologically appropriate, toxin free, complete, & balanced meals for your pet, giving them the daily nutrition, they need to thrive with good health.

Organic Paw meals should always be fed raw & not cooked due to the ground bone content.

We recommend Organic Paws as part of a complete fresh food diet for dogs and cats which consists of approximately 70% fresh meat, offal & raw meaty bones & 30% plants/ vegetables.

Come in to say hi & pick up a box or two! We are open Tues-Thurs, 10am-6pm AEDT located in Bangalow, NSW at 4a Ballina Rd

Did you know we offer laser therapy?

Dr Megan often uses laser therapy to provide pain relief and to promote tissue repair. The super pulsed, cold laser light stimulates cellular regeneration. Low-level laser therapy can be part of an integrated approach to health and healing.

Laser therapy may help treat pets with a variety of conditions including pain, inflammation, injury, stiffness, osteoarthritis, post-orthopaedic surgery, rehabilitation, skin conditions, wounds, and infection, including hotspots and lick granuloma.

This non-invasive treatment can also be useful to help anxious pets to unwind and relax before other treatments including acupuncture treatment as well as for laser acupuncture. It is a great way to introduce our pets to acupuncture. One of the methods Dr Megan often starts with is called the Unwind Method where she moves the laser slowly from the base of the skull along both sides of the spine down to the tail.

If you think your pet would benefit from laser therapy we encourage you to contact Vitality Vetcare to make an appointment and chat with Dr Megan about treatment options. We look forward to hearing from you!

We are open Tuesday-Thursday, 10am-6pm AEDT, Bangalow NSW (02) 6687 0675 or [email protected]

A good summary of an integrative approach to chronic kidney disease in cats. Dr Megan tailors the treatment plan for a cat with CKD according to their individual expression of the disease. It would generally include a fresh food diet appropriate for a cat with CKD, a homoeopathic medication based on the totality of individual symptoms, herbal and nutritional support and possibly acupuncture.

More than half of cats 10 years and older have chronic kidney disease, and there are two potential triggers that you can control. If your kitty has already developed kidney disease, know one of the biggest mistakes you can make, even though it's recommended by many veterinarians.

Can you help with platypus conservation? The Platy Project is a citizen science project to be held this September to survey platypus populations in Australia https://www.acf.org.au/platy-project

Platypus are breeding in Byron Creek. You can protect our local platypus by walking your dogs on a lead or staying away from Byron Creek when visiting the Show Grounds, sports fields, Bangalow Parklands (weir) and the creek walk.

You’ll never forget your first platypus encounter. It’s a magical moment when this strange and adorable creature emerges from ripples in the water.

Hi everyone,

We currently have a beautiful dog staying with us as his family have been seriously impacted by the floods.

We are looking for volunteers who would be willing to come and give 1h a day of their time to take him for walkies, especially on weekends. He's a delightful, responsive boy to walk and be with.

If we get a few people we can hopefully work out a rotating roster of some kind.

Please contact us via our clinic email if you think this is you: [email protected]

Thank you! 🌼

We are short of wood shaving bedding and volunteers to muck out stables, especially week day mornings. Please send a message or make a donation if you can help out. Thank you! 🐴

Hi everyone,

With all this rain coming, we are in desperate need of dry shavings to be used as bedding for the injured flood affected horses we have in care here.
We are going through roughly 7 bags of shavings per day.

If you would like to support the 10 flood affected horses we have in care with feed, bedding, fuel, transport and medical supplies please see account details below.
Alternatively, you can phone Newrybar Produce to put money on the Bangalow Temporary Equine Hospital account.

I am proud of the incredible work of the team of volunteers at the Bangalow Temporary Equine Field Hospital. Dr Nikita from Richmond River Equine Services and I have worked there as volunteers since Sunday 6th March. I am grateful to Vets for Compassion whose volunteer vets have helped us out on some shifts so that we can get home a bit earlier or even have a morning or evening off. Dr Rhian from Gold Coast Equine Clinic and Dr Lu, Holistic Vet have also helped us out.

If anyone has any problems or concerns about whether horses in the temporary field hospital are flood affected or about the use of funds raised through crowd funding please contact me, Dr Megan Kearney or Dr Nikita Stibbard directly rather than spreading rumours on social media. I welcome a culture of openess, transparency and accountability.

Thank you to everyone who is supporting this awesome project!

What's not to love about sharing your apple with a horse? 🍎

One of the amazing vet nurses Kim Simpson from Vitality Vetcare sent me a cute photo of Dr Megan Kearney taking a minute to finally have something to eat. Megan didn’t know the photo was taken.
Apparently, the apple was the first thing Megan had eaten all day and she was sharing it with Tier.
Bless her
