My name is Sarah, I am passionate about animals and an avid photographer. My business Waggles Photography is inspired by the doggy model who really helped me develop my photography skills and motivated me to buy my first DSLR camera - Aggie (nickname Waggles). I find it sad when I look back at some of my earlier photos of my pets and realise I missed some key moments in their lives which I would h

Unfortunately for us, we are coming up on the one year anniversary of the death of our beautiful Aggie.

I tried some action shots with Banjo which turned out pretty cute but as I said, achieving it without a handler is very hard. While he is getting pretty good at his "sit, stay" command, the moment I crouch down with a camera, he's off!
Don't you love the fur? I think he belongs in a commercial for dog shampoo 🤣
Okay, time for the "big reveal". This is Banjo.
I've been holding off on introducing Banjo as the pain of losing Aggie has been all consuming and it didn't feel right to talk about him so soon after losing Aggie. Banjo came to our house a few months ago now and has been a bright ball of energy, as all Jack Russells are, in what was a very quiet house once Aggie passed.
His looks confuse a few people but he is indeed a Jack Russell, just an incredibly hairy, rough coated one. He has an awesome head tilt, which is captured here, however as will be shown in the next set of photos, photographing him without a second pair of hands and a lead is quite difficult, as one should expect with a puppy but I forgot 🤣
Rarely photographed for Waggles but a natural nonetheless - this is one of two cats in the Waggles household, Archie.
Archie saw some treats being distributed and decided to get amongst the chaos. The real reason for the chaos will be revealed in a few days....
When you paint a wall in your house and it becomes the perfect backdrop for moody photos of your dog 😍
I was photographing another pet.... to be revealed soon... but Dusty was very clearly jealous and posing up a storm next to me so of course I had to photograph her.
It's Dusty's 9th Gotcha Day and unofficial 11th birthday (we were told she was anywhere from 1-3 years old when we got her).
The second photo is her adoption profile photo. What a difference 9 years make!
Today would have been Aggie's 16th birthday. I always tried to take a proper birthday photo every year, even though my phone was filled with endless photos of her. It makes me sad that there will be no more new photos of her.

On 25 September, we said goodbye to my soul dog and inspiration for Waggles, Aggie.
I don't know how to do such a great big life justice in just a few words. Everything I've drafted feels like it doesn't encompass the impact she had on my life.
We were lucky to have 15 amazing years with our cuddly, stubborn and beautiful Jack Russell. She was there for so many life events and was always by our sides, even at our wedding! I miss my little shadow so much. She has left a great big hole in our lives.
Happy 10th birthday to our glossy black cat Archie.
As per the cat code, you enjoy testing your humans' patience, climbing on benches when we are quietly eating our dinner and knocking things off bedside tables while we sleep.
This is only a quick phone photo, because the fact that he made eye contact with me for a photo is a very rare occurrence (as per aforementioned cat code), and I wasn't testing my luck with my camera.

My goodness, shared this photo 3 years ago today. Where has the time gone?! I got to catch up with this lovely lady and her family earlier this year for a wedding.
Fun story: Her doggy friend Freya walked around the reception with a phone attached to a home made saddle so all those unable to attend the wedding due to lockdown could video call in! The video guests got to see a lot of people eating food while Freya stared up at them lovingly 🤣

Baldrick and his favourite toy.
"I've been surrounded by dogs my whole life, but I've never met a dog like him before. We just get each other. He's my fuzzy soulmate."
Never have I read a more perfect description of a Heart Dog than how Belinda described Baldrick to me.
Baldrick is a Rhodesian Ridgeback... cross maybe Labrador? As with most rescues, Baldrick's heritage is unknown. He was rescued as a puppy by ARQ - Animal Rescue Qld, Baldrick's mum says he chose her by sitting in her lap when they went to meet him and his siblings at his foster carer's home.
What Baldrick's photos don't show is his battle scars. Unfortunately Baldrick has been diagnosed with cancer and is currently undergoing chemotherapy however his prognosis is not good.
Baldrick's family is currently completing a bucket list for him, including a photo shoot to capture his gorgeous personality. There is also a doggy party planned for early this year with all his best mates.

This handsome chap is Baldrick. He is a photographer's dream - right from the word go, he gave me a head tilt and a gorgeous smile.
Of course, I've been in Baldrick's inner circle for a while now so I know this is just the way he is: handsome and refined with more than a little bit of puppy humour thrown in despite his 9 years.
I'll be sharing Baldrick's story over the coming weeks, but in the meantime, can you guess what breed/s Baldrick might be?

Cooper (second from left): Bull terrier, Greyhound and Kelpie
Sadie (second from right): Rottweiler, Golden Retriever and Labrador
Freddie (right): Cattle dog, Rhodesian Ridgeback and German Short Haired Pointer
I have one more guess the breed for you from this gorgeous fur family before I post the results on Thursday. Yes that's right, I haven't lied to you, you will find out the breeds!
This handsome man is 100% purebred so no DNA breakdowns required here however I thought I would see how many people know the breed as it's not one you see often on the streets ;)
Haha this gave me a good giggle because we have literally had to install a lock on our bedroom door to stop our cat opening it during the night.
