A beautiful close up of a whips snakes stunning eye markings. These small snakes can be mistaken for brown snakes, and as such are killed on sight. We do NOT recommend that you handle snakes, but if at all possible try and look for these clear marks to help identify the whip snakes! They will usually move on very quickly after detecting humans, so please let them live their reptilian lives!

A mating pair of whip snakes, the male is a bit cranky!
They will be given a safe space to go about their "business", then be released. Watered, fed and made sure they are in generally good health and spirits before being released of course!

Ok guys...
This is a bit of a serious post.
Terry Coraki Snake Catcher LOVES snakes and by extension, all reptiles and native wild life. It costs fuel to service the northern rivers area (which is extensive), food for rehabilitation and medicines if they are in need. Not to mention the time it takes to pick off all the ticks. Thank you to everyone for your support and understanding, and taking the time and being conscientious to call so we can save, relocate and protect or slithery friends. We do not condone any harm to any animal, and I will do my best to be able to help, so please keep those eyes peeled, keep my mobile number in your phone and keep up the good work!

Cranky tree snake! He had a lovely prey-ground and didn't want to leave! Unfortunately, it was not a safe one! No one (or reptile) was harmed! All precautions and safety measures were adhered to! What an awesome photo though!

Big brown fella relocated from woodburn area!
Just trying to get warm and get some food.
A friendly reminder, that our reptilian neighbours are waking up and are on the move. Please be careful and call anytime. This fella will be fed, watered and kept warm for a bit before being safely released to live out its days!

They've been snuggled up for the cold winter months, but now it's warming up they are out and about. This cranky fella was warming himself up in the street on a coraki road, but could have easily become road kill. Please keep an eye out, please be catgut on our roads as our natives are emerging for food and breeding cycles. Please call anytime.

Sorry everyone...
This is about 3 weeks late...
All of "mum's" babies hatched. Mum was happy and healthy and moved in once her job was done!
Here is a pic of the first babies making their way in the world!

Just an update on "mum python + eggs"!
She's safe, and we have put her in a warm safe place for her to hatch her eggs. Terry Coraki Snake Catcher picked over 40 ticks off her!
Not disturbing her or her eggs!
All big and easily reachable ticks were removed. However she still has about that remaining.
She'll be well looked after, and left alone for the remainder of her nesting time. She'll be fed, watered and remaining parasites will be removed in good time before she is released to continue on with her life...

Young female Brown snake relocated from woodburn primary school! Well done kids for alerting the teachers.
This girl is a bit darker, almost grey colour. But the very distinctive and easily recognisable apricot spots on her belly was a give away.
She also had a lot of ticks on her, mostly paralysis ticks! So she was a bit cranky, but settled once she realised we were removing them for her.
Stay alert...
Not just for our precious wild life, but now we are coming into tick season, too!!!

Baby marsh snake relocated from coraki school. OMG look how cute and tiny it is.
You can identify marsh snakes by the yellow and dark brown strip on both sides of the head starting from the eye. If you zoom in, you will them in this picture.
Please don't confuse them with our brown snakes.
If in doubt, call anytime...

We don't know what it is, but whenever I get a female python, they always more interested in making friends with my sister (taking the photo's!). This friendly girl stretched nearly half her length to try and make friends with my sister and give her a cuddle, making it slightly difficult to take a pic!!! Needless to say my sister wasn't having a bar of it!!!

2 very beautiful and healthy female eastern brown snakes relocates from woodburn primary school today. Although they were a bit fiesty towards each other at first, now they are very calm and placid. Just 2 girls that had had enough of each other, I guess! 🤣

Look at the vibrant brown tree snake. I know they may look similar to our eastern brown's, but these guys are vital to the sustainability of our eco systems. Please don't harm them. They often get mistaken, and many are killed on site.

Astonishingly healthy female eastern brown, relocated from Eltham! Bit cranky, but she obviously had an easy prey-ground and didn't wanna leave it!!!
One for the record books surely!!!

Bravest kid in coraki!
Holding a young green tree snake!
Even at this young age, look at the wonderful and distinctive colouring of these non-venomous placid snakes.
I know they look brown when newly hatched, but these natives are very placid.

So keep an eye out, also err on the side of caution and call anytime!!!

Poor snake had ticks all over!
Terry removed over 20, including ticks that were covering the snakes eyes and nostrils! If they were allowed to feed and get any bigger before Terry rescued the python, not only could the snake not see, but probably not have been able to breathe!
Time consuming, delicate and thankless job!
Well done! The placid and friendly python will be fed, watered and have some much needed R&R before being released in a safe location...

Some lovely volunteers in Coraki who were treated with a cuddle from Bella!
This was the first time they have ever held a snake and it is so amazing that it can be such a positive one!!!

Hi guys, I know i haven't posted in a while.
We know it's getting cooler now, so a little reminder that our reptiles are still out and about looking for food and warmth.
This little beauty was rescued today after a little girl spotted and advised her parents of the snakes whereabouts.
Great job sweetie!
And well done to all who have survived the last few months themselves, and who have been amazing humans for not "killing on sight".
Keep up the awesome efforts, and don't hesitate to call.
This is a tired, hungry and cold brown snake who will be fed, watered and safely relocated.
