HUGE congratulations to Ros on passing her CCRT (Certified Canine Rehabilitation Therapist) theory component with a huge 97%. Amazing effort Ros!

Ros only has her intern component to complete now before we can officially declare her a CCRT. She is also hopefully just about to complete her CIVT course in Advanced Neuroacupuncture which has been 18 months in the making. Ros we all think you’re a superstar! So grateful to have you as part of the MAVS family 🫶

Meet Frankie. Frankie ate a grape.
Her owners did the right thing and called us straight away! 🍇

When Frankie arrived at our clinic, we instantly induced vomiting as grapes/sultanas are highly toxic to dogs. Frankie will have a blood test done 2 days after ingestion to ensure there was no grape remanence in her stomach.

The toxicity of grapes and sultanas can cause kidney damage/failure in dogs. If your dog ever ingests grapes or sultanas or you suspect they have, please call the clinic on 9890 1728 or contact your local emergency centre.

As much as we LOVE seeing native wildlife, they don’t belong in our clinic 🐨🦜🦘

If you find any wildlife, like this adorable baby possum, here are the actions we recommend:
- Observe. Check for dangers to yourself or the wildlife. If the wildlife is a juvenile and doesn’t appear injured or distressed, wait 2hrs (if possible) to see if their parent comes back, as this is key for their survival.
- Note the wildlife’s condition and carefully place into a box with a lid.
- Call us 9890 1728 or Wildlife Victoria 8400 7300

𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝘁𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁: ✨𝘉𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘴𝘩 𝘉𝘶𝘭𝘭𝘥𝘰𝘨✨

This robust, medium-sized dog breed is definitely one that will keep you entertained! Although they can be stubborn and may leave your house covered in drool or smelling like farts, they are a loyal and sweet dog who will always love a night in with their owner.

𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘦𝘹𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵: Low activity and moderate-shedding. They require minimal grooming (besides cleaning between their wrinkles)
𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘵𝘰 𝘣𝘦 𝘢𝘸𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘰𝘧: Bulldogs are a brachycephalic (short snout/squished face), they tend to snore and don’t cope well in hot weather.

—> Meet Briggs. He is Nurse Tiarna’s British Bulldog. Briggs is 4 years old and lives with 3 cats (who he LOVES). He certainly fits the description above! His other quirks include: chasing shadows/reflections and attacking mops.

C'mon Simba, keep fighting!! 🐾

It's been 5 days since the incredible team at Mont Albert Veterinary Surgery rallied for a late-night surgery to save Simba. We're not out of the woods yet, anxiously awaiting news on potential kidney damage from bleach ingestion – Simba's kidneys were already fragile before surgery.

This resilient face is a true warrior, backed by an army of love 💙. Dr. Priyal paused her birthday celebrations on Monday night to fight alongside this adorable boy. While we've done all we can after funding Simba's initial stay at Lort Smith Animal Hospital, we dipped into the love bank thanks to your outpouring of support and we were able to fund a little more, but the costs were exceeding our maximum. We contacted our friends Pets Of The Homeless who generously donated $1000 to support Simba's journey.

Support Squad for Simba, we've got you – you just need to keep fighting and get better soon!!! 🙏
