Hi,We harvested our olives and processed them into beautiful Extra Virgin Olive Oil. But it was a poor harvest even though the oil was good. Now we have sold out!
So you will not find us at the Adelaide Hills Farmers Market not the Adelaide Farmers Market at the Showgrounds.
However we still have stocks of chickpeas and whole red lentils. Pramila of Spice Chariot is going to be our distributor.
Thank you everyone for your support over the past 15 years. It has been a great learning experience and we made many friends!

Do you want more (and cheaper) plant based protein in your diet? And think chick peas are a hassle because you have to soak them before cooking?
My time-saving trick? Soak and cook them all(1kg dried =2.5kg cooked), then bag and freeze in 500gm lots for easy use.
= approx 50c per bag.

Start of the olive harvest using a hand held battery powered shaker and an inverted Olibrella to catch the flying olives.
and we are right next door to Lilit cooking bacon and eggs! yum
Bald Hills Olive Grove produces fine Extra Virgin Olive Oil with a fresh grassy flavour spiced with peppery pungent after taste. It comes from Tuscan variety olive trees in the Frantoio family. The land supports 680 Corregiola, Paragon, Leccino and Pendolino olive trees. They were selected because they cope with the frosts in Northern Italy, and which we occasionally get in the beautiful Adelaide hills. The fruit is picked both by hand and using a shaker then taken to the press to release the oil. The oil is bottled and labelled on the estate before being delivered to customers.
Bald Hills Extra Virgin Olive Oil’s great taste that makes it ideal to quickly give salads, bruschetta and cooked vegetables a lift. In addition you know that when you cook (Link to recipes) with Bald Hills Extra Virgin Olive Oil you are getting all the health benefits of the cholesterol-free olive oil and the anti-oxidants from the flavour boosting Polyphenols.
History of Bald Hills Olive Grove
Bald Hills Olive Grove sits on 33 acres of high quality agricultural land to the north of Mt Barker on Bald Hills Road. The grove and the road are named for the two feminine shaped hills which sit to the south of the peak. Mt Barker was a meeting place for aboriginal tribes from the Murray valley and Adelaide Hills and as such is a significant site for these peoples. The Peramangk people lived around the area and there are signs of their presence on the huge red river gums on the property and along Bald Hills Road.
The trees were planted in 1998 with the help of friends and family. Our first harvest was of 23 berries in 2002! The volume has steadily increased since then! Until 2009 the fruit was harvested by hand, onto mats which we drag along under the trees. In 2009 the majority were harvested with a mechanical shaker, with bins topped up with hand harvested gleanings. Depending on the season we either harvest by hand or with a shaker.
Expanding product lines
In 2018 we started selling whole red lentils and chick peas. These protein and fibre rich products are popular at markets.
