Hope your family and furkids keep safe as we approach the holiday season! Certainly there may be new challenges with all the decorations around to entice them. Or for our uninitiated families, a lot of "puppy proofing" in the works. We are certainly here to help or even if you want fresh eyes on the task. We will still keep an eye out on our messages if you need to reach out around the holiday period (apart from actual Christmas and New Year's day). We may have more time to spoil our dogs now (especially puppies), however we still recommend crate or kennel training. Why you may ask? You will be recreating a "den" and a safe haven for your dog/pup - a space where he or she knows what to expect. This will address separation anxiety and other common issues before they manifest. Sure it may not come without protest, but start with little milestones and build on that!

Meal time is an exciting time for many pups and most animals. Admittedly we're not an exception!
Why not utilise this time to train our companions? After all practice makes perfect and training, like mannerism, is a daily habit.
Repeat this mantra: "There are no free meals."
Have them sit and wait before setting the bowl down, eat on a mat, split the meals and practice a bit more - a few possibilities to reiterate "mannerisms," structure and routine.

Hope you're enjoying your long weekend! It's going to be another scorcher!
You may have already seen similar posts circulating but nonetheless try to keep all members of the family cool! We have temporarily held off or rescheduled any outdoor training sessions this weekend due to very hot weather. We're still contactable by messenger and phone :)

Just another day at the park?

Not exactly! We prefer the great outdoor weather plus the time on hand to learn and teach a skill or two! Take action and build up foundation or overcome obstacles that yourself and the dog may otherwise not have an oppurtunity to do so.

No papers here...

*IMPORTANT HELP TIPS*
Although we cannot predict where our current COVID-19 outbreak is heading, we implore all our K9 friends and family stay safe and healthy. In the event our K9 friend does fall ill, we are sharing the notice at our local vet.

We have elected for measures to also encourage appropriate doggy development while still being mindful of current social distancing policies. This includes:

* temporarily stopping home visits
* individual 1-on-1 sessions in outdoor, low traffic area
* ensuring a minimum of 2 metre distance, which we've routinely practiced in the past

With Easter fast approaching, we must be more mindful of what may be around or possibly shared! It is great most of us are aware chocolate is delicious and not to be shared with our dogs.
