It is our aim that our pups will be equally at home in the lounge room as they are in the show ring or the cattle yards. But mostly that they will go to homes where they will be as loved and as valued as they are here at EYLESVIEW.

🌸 Expressions of Interest 🌸

Two wonderful homes are joyfully awaiting the arrival of their little girls.

We have now opened the Spring Litter up to expressions of interest for our other two beautiful girls.

Initial contact is best made through Messenger or via email at [email protected]

🌸 First time having a go with bones! This was really just an introduction, and only Fern and Marigold were interested today. They don’t get anything to eat from this because their little teeth and jaws aren’t strong enough yet, but it’s good to give it a try. Bones are super important in a dog’s diet, so we’ll keep going with different types. For now though, the big dogs are getting excited about the leftovers!

🌸 It’s been a big few days. The pups are growing and wanting more space to explore, we’ve had almost daily storms, sometimes two a day, and there’s mud everywhere!! This morning, they were finally able to move house from their puppy space to their play space. They have a new sleeping area with crates and access to the verandah with different things to explore. They can move between the two areas as they wish most of the time, and have already started to try out their crates. Such big kids now!

🌸 Today was the first time that Grandma Sheila got to go into the play area to play with her grandkids, and didn’t she just love it! Sheila has the most beautiful temperament and has been an amazing mum to two litters. This gentleness, and her friendly nature, are two things that I desperately want to keep going with my pups. 🩷

🌸 With each dog, and with each litter, we (breeders and owners) go on a learning journey. We research and we listen, and then we pick the things that are right for us. This will be my second litter raised solely with a fresh food diet. After all, it’s what I feed my big dogs, so why not the puppies as well? Because the truth is, puppies don’t NEED puppy biscuits. It’s convenient, and depending on the brand, it can be cheap. But these two things don’t make it necessary or good. Just easy. However for some people, biscuits are part of their dog’s diet and I think that’s okay. It was part of their diet here for years. So, no judgement. You do you 🙂 But I think it’s important that we don’t fall into the trap of believing that dogs NEED biscuits in order to have a healthy or balanced diet.

There’s lots of information about fresh feeding, and I won’t bang on about it here. It’s easy enough to research if you are interested. However, I would encourage everyone (even those who aren’t actively researching) to download and listen to the podcast below. Jane Messineo Lindquist does a great job in episodes 25 and 26 of discussing this topic. It’s easy to listen to, informative and leaves the listener with something to think about.

ℹ️ Jane Messineo Lindquist is a breeder, trainer, judge and truly amazing person to listen to. She started Puppy Culture which is “a socialization and training program specifically developed for puppies, from birth through the end of their critical socialization period” and also has a radio station called Madcap Radio. The podcasts cover many different puppy topics and are well worth a listen.

🌸 Tonight, Fern was the absolute star! Turkey slurry was on the menu for those who wanted it and not only did she have a go at it, she absolutely smashed it! I’m sure she was wondering why I’d been neglecting her by just feeding her puppy shake!

🌸 My favourite part of the eight weeks! Last night we had our first 1:1 time with some puppy shake. It’s like they had all read the text book and knew exactly what to do, the little clever clogs! This morning we had a bit of breakfast all together, and what a beautiful mess we made! 😍 There’s nothing more fun than lying on the floor with the pups as they learn to drink. We end up with puppy shake everywhere, wet paws and then always some soggy cuddles afterwards. What a great start to the day 🩷

🌸 The kids have had a big day today. We started the day with a trip to the vets (Pud was having a check up and they came for the cuddles). When we got home they hung out in the kitchen while I did some baking before their Aunty Jan came for a visit. They got to try out their new play area where they rocked their vintage Spring vibe and checked out a few toys. After a bit of wrestling and wandering, they’re now having a nap while they wait for their Aunty Marion to pop in. Think we’ll all sleep well tonight!
