Have you ever seen a tapeworm?
If your pet is a hunter OR has fleas, they may have contracted a tapeworm. Unfortunately, the only way to treat these guys is with a prescription dewormer (the over-the-counter stuff doesn't get them). You can often see tapeworms around the pet's bum or on their bedding where they sleep. If you suspect your pet may have worms of any type, please call the office today!

bring your feline companion in for a routine wellness visit, we’ll
do a physical exam and run diagnostic screening tests to help
detect issues before your cat shows signs of illness.

As many of you know, Dr. Hurford and Morgan Freeman (the dog) were invited to compete in the agility nationals last weekend. Great job guys!

Below are Dr. Hurford's thoughts on the weekend:

The weekend started off with the loveliest of opening speeches. I cried. I thought of the dogs I’ve run, the friends I’ve made and the lessons I’ve learned since finding this sport and group of people 10 years ago. This community has helped me through some pretty tough times. My dogs have been my lifeline. It is not lost on me how lucky I am that I’ve found a place for myself in agility.

Then as luck would have it the speech was repeated again in French and so I teared up again.

Here’s part of the speech one of the judges gave. I know it’ll resonate with many of my friends here ❤

I would expect you all to have hopes and goals for the
weekend. Whether it be to make the national team, the podium, your new personal best score, or just to have some proverbial nice stuff in every run. I encourage you to strive for those goals as they can be what pushes you to all sorts of new adventures. All I ask, is that you not lose sight of the fact that you are living a moment.

There will come a time, maybe in 2, 5, or 10 years, where you will be sitting on the couch with your agility partner, or maybe they will no longer be with you. And at that time, you will be willing to give virtually everything you own, to be able to come back to this very moment, with the health and mobility that you have now, and a partner who has the ability and experience that they have now, just to be able to relive this experience together.

Take the time to grasp how lucky you are to be here, how lucky you are to have this moment with your dog, and to realize that this week, you are living one of those moments that you will look back on when your career is over. Enjoy the ride, take in all that the AAC national event has to offer, and go out there and make this your moment to remember!

It's Cat-urday! Where are my Game of Thrones fans at?

This is Jon Snow (black and white) and Ygritte (brown tabby). These siblings are approximately 4 months old and are looking for their forever home. They will be spayed and neutered next week and ready to spend the rest of their days entertaining and loving you.

We don't know who is more excited to run agility this weekend - Dr. Hurford or her Border Collie, Morgan Freeman! They have qualified to run at the AAC Nationals in Maxville, ON this weekend. We are so proud of all their hard work to get to this level.

Help us wish them the best of luck in their trials!
Our paws are crossed!

Foxboro Veterinary Hospital is proud to be part of a community that has great programs for our youth. We sponsored our first soccer team - what a great season! We hosted a pizza appreciation party on their last evening. Looks like they had a great time!

Milo the bunny did fantastic and won everybody's heart (and carrots) while in for his recent visit.
Dr. Hurford and her team take great pleasure in treating a wide range of small mammals, for both appointments and surgeries.

Did you know that our receptionist/VA, Brogan, runs her own non-profit cat rescue in Tweed? Thanks to her and Dr. Hurford many cats have been treated, altered, and put into loving homes.

He finds it even harder to play when they get caught on blankets because, he only has 3 legs for balance! Nail trims for our pets are so important!
