Our very own Angie has been leveling up and keeping us on a straight path to success!

The "matriarch" member of our grooming family, she is always supportive and providing words of wisdom that help round out our team. As a Bather Technician, and a Double Coated Technician, she handles many of the biggest and furriest double coated giants of our clients, and does so with such gentle care. As she continues to excel in her grooming styles, she is nearly fully certified as an Intermediate Pet Stylist, and has just started venturing into becoming a Havanese specialist, with her own little show pup, Duke!

Tenacity Labradors, her project for the past 4 years(with 10 years of showing Labradors) is an excellent example of ethical breeding and goal for ensuring each pup is recognized and treated as an individual, just like her clients.

This year so far she has tested her skills and knowledge at the national level and receiving multiple certifications. Not only is she Fear Free Certified but she has obtained her certification in Canine First Aid, to better assist your dog in their grooming sessions. Her obsession with Doodles & Poodles is still going strong and she strives to learn all new creative techniques and skills to ensure each dog has their own unique style. Many of her favorite clients are success stories of turning anxious or reactive dogs into confident groomables and she gives it her whole heart to understand your pup's personality. Her business, Blak Beauty Dog Grooming, participates regularly in charity events and helping you to understand your pet better.

While she spends most of her days with your pets, her personal pets are Tohva the miniature Poodle and Nymira the senior Shiloh Shepherd. In her time off she enjoys gardening and spending time with her 3 children.

Lucy is a hand stripped beauty!

Did you know dogs with a wire coat may actually benefit from hand stripping over clipping or sc******ng?
Hand stripping wire coated dogs clears the follicles of debris which in turn allows the skin to breath. This promotes skin health which in turn allows the coat to better protect your pup from weather and regulate body temperature. It also helps to maintain a rich coat color.

Introducing Allison!

When Kirrie broke her hand, Allison joined us as her temporary assistant to help with the bathing and dryer process so her cast could stay dry. After the first day it was very clear that she had a bright future in grooming and would make a valuable member of the NavyDog Grooming family. Her calming energy with the dogs and cheerful outlook are unmatched and we feel so lucky to have her join us. Keep reading to learn a little bit more about her!

Allison comes to us with 3 years of grooming experience. She has excelled in understanding double coated breeds' grooming needs and thoroughly enjoys the satisfaction of providing seasonal deshedding to her clients.
As Allison continues to advance her education, she looks forward to specializing in breed clips, and completing all levels of certification with support of her new team.

Her own shop dogs Sierra, a 3 year old Aussie & Pyrenees mix, and Malone, a 4 year Lab & Rottweiler mix (with a hint of Husky), have helped her to gain deeper knowledge of complex pet personalities.
Her favorite breed to groom are Bernese Mountain Dogs, but she is excited to take on the wonderful world of Poodles and expand her skillset!

In her free time Allison explores the wild Alberta outdoors with her fiancé and two dogs. You can often find her quadding or taking her pets for hikes.
