Part THREE of #NationalVolunteerWeek highlight reel! Big thanks to the wonderful, kind and generous volunteers we have here at BC SPCA West Kootenay. The animal care team appreciates you so much! Caring for a building full of animals takes a lot of time and energy, so volunteers are such an important part of the team here. Volunteers do things like fostering orphaned kittens, feeding them around the clock. Or they go out to community events and represent the BC SPCA (BCSPCA) . Or they patiently work with scared cats to help them trust humans. Want to join them? Go to https://spca.bc.ca/ways-to-help/volunteer/
Part 2 of our #NationalVolunteerWeek highlight reel of our fabulous BC SPCA West Kootenay volunteers. It is always such a pleasure to see the smiling faces of volunteers coming through the door. As animals wait for their forever homes, you give them the extra caring attention and exercise they need. You help them learn important skills like walking on leash, taking treats gently or even just enjoying a good head boop. Thank you for everything you do!🐾♥
It is #NationalVolunteerWeek and we want to highlight some of our wonderful, kind and generous volunteers we have here at our BC SPCA West Kootenay. Timmy REALLY loves our amazing new fenced yard at BC SPCA West Kootenay!
This guy is bursting with energy and enthusiasm for life, as you may be able to tell. He gets his zoomies out but then will walk nicely on leash and is very eager to please.
Timmy gets along well with dogs his size or larger. Initial introductions should be managed due to his exuberance. 😂 He requires lots of mental and physical stimulation in a very active and cat-free household.
If you’re ready for a dynamic, loving canine friend, Timmy is so ready to be a part of your family. Please contact us at 250-509-0297 or complete an application online at https://adopt.spca.bc.ca. No room for this handsome guy? Share and help him find his people! See less

So, how can you stop the cycle? AnimalKind trainers Carol Millman (Wag The Dog) and Heather Fox (Proud of My Dog - Dog Training) share methods and activities that help you stop your dog from pulling in a fun and effective way!
