Some highlights from a recent trip to Edmonton where head groomer Melissa taught Seminars on breed standard and pet grooming, as well as Hands-On training with a small group of talented individuals.

Grooming schools/training programs in Canada tend to be short programs that can often leave groomers with very basic skills/knowledge of the intricacies of working with every day grooming clients. Passionate groomers all over the country often seek mentorship and continuing education in order to hone their craft and offer top quality service to their clients!

Melissa adores teaching groomers new and seasoned and sharing her passion for grooming with her peers. This career is one where every day is a little bit different and there is always something to learn and improve upon 🩷🐾

Melissa is also a brand ambassador for Hyponic Products and after months of testing the products on her own dogs (with outstanding results) we are now integrating these fantastic high quality shampoos and conditioners into our already great salon product line up!

Melissa and Mark attended the Ottawa Ontario Grooming Show last week where Melissa was invited to teach a seminar on achieving a stylish and cute pet style trim. 🐾 Melissa was delighted with her adorable model Bailey the miniature doodle and her full class of dedicated, eager groomers! Continuing Education is so important in this field and Melissa finds teaching new groomers to be such rewarding work!

Melissa and her standard poodle Demi also snagged a 2nd place in the Open Division Poodle class. 🧡

One of the world's largest grooming events, Superzoo welcomes groomers from over 9 different countries to compete on one of the most prestigious stages.

Melissa was absolutely honored to be chosen in the Top Ten in the $16,000 Jackpot Final with her work on handsome JJ the To be recognized among the world most talented groomers is truly a dream come true! 🐩🩷

We're so proud of Melissa and her Demi for pulling out a Best In Show at the Teton Grooming Expo in Idaho Falls last weekend!

Melissa has been grooming for 10 years and started attending grooming competitions in 2019. Her passion for dogs and for grooming drives her to continue to learn and fine tune her skills. She has been lucky to groom some amazing dogs in the salon and in contests but this win with her own home-raised pet Demi is one she will not forget! 🖤

Melissa was able to place in both classes she entered!

1st Place Sporting Intermediate with Mackie the handsome 🥇

3rd Place Intermediate Poodles with beautiful Demi, Melissa's own 🥉

This win is Melissa's third in the intermediate division, meaning she has reached the highest level in Grooming Contests, the Open Division. Melissa is looking forward to grooming against the world's best groomers in her upcoming events this year!
