The Daisy Foundation

The Daisy Foundation Daisy’s Story:

Daisy was a stray puppy we found in India, who decided that she wanted to adopt us and would not give up until we did.

Established to improve the lives of as many animals as we can, by re-homing them into caring and loving families, arranging veterinary care for them and saving them from abuse and neglect. She would come running to us as we would pull up into our driveway. She would follow us on our walks and shoo her siblings away because she wanted to make sure we were all her’s. She was the happiest and sweetes

t puppy we have ever come across. One night, we found her in distress, not being able to breathe properly and not being her happy self. It turns out that she had a diaphragmatic hernia and was rushed into surgery. Her recovery was rough after the surgery and she had to stay on oxygen for 3 days. We spent all of that time by her side and slept next to her, in hopes of saving her. Lo and behold, she recovered and was back to her sweet, happy self soon! We decided that she cannot return to the streets and so we brought her home to Canada with us. Daisy brightened up our lives and we got deeply attached to her before we even realized it. She had this magnetic personality that everyone who met her fell in love with her. We have never known this kind of a love, that she gave us. Sadly, her life with us was cut short when she suddenly developed another diaphragmatic hernia and intestinal strangulation. Our poor Daisy fought so hard, but could not survive this time. We were devastated and heartbroken. My husband and I slipped into a depression that we did not know how to come out of. When our family suggested the idea of helping more stray dogs in need in Daisy’s name, it brought a sense of purpose to us. Daisy left us, but ended up saving many more sweethearts like her.
