Some recent pics of some dogs enjoying the last few weeks! We hope everyone is staying safe from the heat and the wildfires ❤️🩹
***This and the following Thursday & Friday (July 25/26 and Aug 1/2) we will NOT have availability for WALK IN NAIL TRIMS etc and Add-on Nail Trims for pre booked daycare dog spots will be limited (again, on those select dates only) and may be moved to your next visit if needed.
Thank you for your understanding and enjoy the rest of your week! 🐾
An absolutely beauuuutiful beach ready boy after a visit to Vicky's grooming room today! 🤩
We probably could have told his owners that we accidentally shrunk him as the Groomer's own dog is a little mini version of this guy so we had double the cute today! 🤭
How to handle a HEAT STROKE emergency with your dog this summer just in case! Please keep those pups safe and cool during the heatwave!
❤️🩹
Dogs do not have the ability to sweat like us in order to cool themselves down (they can slightly sweat from the glands in their paw pads) and rely on panting in order to expel excess heat.
It's our job as owners to be on top of signs of heat stroke (hyperthermia) in our dogs when being active in the sun and high temperatures. Here in BC our summers can reach upwards of 35C+ and during these times you need to be extra cautious of this condition as it can be fatal if not treated properly.
The STARTING signs of Heat Stroke include (start cooling your dog immediately)
🔥Excessive panting with stressed expression
🔥Excessive drooling
🔥Gums (mucous membranes) are bright red
🔥Increased heart rate
Progressing Symptoms include (seek Veterinary help immediately)
🔥Disorientation
🔥Rectal Temperature above 40.6C (105F)
🔥Collapsing
🔥White/Pale gums (indicator of going into or being in shock)
🔥Vomiting and/or Diarrhea
The final stages of heat stroke if left untreated are coma and stopping breathing (begin CPR and transport to Vet immediately)
🚨 WHAT TO DO IN THIS EMERGENCY 🚨
1. Move your dog into a shaded area or more ideal and air conditioned home or vehicle.
2. Place your dog in a cool tub of water or run cool water over him. Use the hose if you are outside. DO NOT use ice water.
3. Apply a cool source (frozen vegetables or an ice pack) on your dog's head to lower heat in their brain.
4. Do not limit drinking water. Encourage your dog to drink cool (again not icy) water.
5. Gently massage their limbs in order to help circulation and minimize effects of shock.
6. Take temp every 5 minutes. If it is not going down as you try these methods, immediately get them to a Vet. Checking every 5 minutes is crucial to ensure 1) your methods are working and 2) to ensure you do not send them into HYPOthermia from being in cold water for too long etc.
7. If cooling methods ARE working and the re**al temperature is going down, monitor closely for the next 24hrs - but please still arrange a Vet visit. Ensure your dog is staying adequately hydrated!
Please ensure your dog isn't over doing it in the sun for long periods, is taking adequate breaks (also from playing in the water!) and has access to either air conditioning or shaded areas and fresh drinking water. Also remember to check surfaces before walking your dog to avoid paw burns.
Always keep your vet clinics number handy and remember in Kamloops we have access to the new 24/7 Phases Emergency Vet Clinic

Hello Friends! 🐾
We continue to be INCREDIBLY busy heading into summer 🌞
A few reminders that we are NOT accepting new dogs for daycare OR grooming as we are booking very far in advance (July and onward already!!!!) and are taking a pause on new dogs to accommodate our many wonderful existing clients. We❗HIGHLY❗ suggest booking your grooming appointments or play days well ahead and it's best to get in the habit of booking the next as you leave your appointment to avoid delay in coming back!
We appreciate every single person that shows kindness and understanding to our hard working staff and Groomers as we do our absolute best to accommodate yours and your dog's needs and requests while we are experiencing an extremely extra high level of demand this year.
To kick off a great weekend, please enjoy what I refer to as the "Bucket Series" of photos....what started as a joke of a little funny guy choosing to sit in a container over a cozy bed, the majority of the dogs actually have turned out to be obsessed with these bins and so we keep adding them and find a new dog enjoying a nap each day 😂
Our days are hard. Our days are long. This week was a tough one but at the end of the days we get to be overwhelmingly busy with amazing dogs like these so....things are always pretty great around this place 🥰🐶
Happy (belated) ⭐TENTH⭐ birthday to this handsome special boy! 💙

IT'S A SNOW DAY!!!! ...or week Lol 🌨️ The dogs do love the deep snow but like most of us humans, the joy is short lived and back inside we go 😂 DRIVE EXTRA SAFE TODAY EVERYONE! 💙
Always check for (friendly) yard sharks! 🦈❤️ Many dogs that we see love to show off SMILES and it's one of our favorite things! 🐶 ---------- Dog Smiles (also referred to as a submissive grin) is when a dog shows teeth without any aggressive intent behind it! This behaviour is one of many appeasement gestures some dogs use intended to calm down a situation and communicate that they are not a threat. Many dogs offer up smiles when they are super excited and being goofy such as this hilarious little one. If you know her, you get it and no explanation is needed! 😂💜 *There is a major difference between this and a dog that is showing teeth and is uncomfortable! This could be an anxiety and/or aggressive response and should be worked on with a trainer!
This one is always ready to go see her friends and get right to puppy business 🎉 She has been having loads of fun in our daycare and has also done training with Andrea!
