This beautiful husky's name is Kyle! Kyle has been with us at the shelter for far too long. His stay is about to hit one year and we're really hoping to find him a forever home before he reaches that milestone.

Kyle is looking for a home with a yard where he can go outside and adventure! He will also do better with no other animals in the home.

Last Wednesday, we took our new puppies, Fore and Tee, to the Law Enforcement Torch Relay for Special Olympics. We are lucky to have a few volunteers on our staff that have qualified for the Special Olympics so we were ecstatic to get out and support them! Good luck to all participants this summer!

LAPS is very short on cat food! We are asking for anyone who is able to donate wet and dry cat food to our food bank. It is very empty and we have already had to turn away three people today. 😢

If you have the time and resources, please drop the food items off at the shelter at 26220 56th Avenue. As usual, it is greatly appreciated to help us support the animals in our community! 💚🐾💚

June 27th, 2024 is right around the corner! LAPS is holding it's annual Paws on the Green Golf Tournament! This tournament helps LAPS raise funds to continue to help and care for animals in Langley City and the Township of Langley.

Our tournament, hosted by Erin Cebula, will have a full 18 holes of golf, a live and a silent auction, tastings on the course (with Mr. Mikes, Camp Beer, N**e Beverages and more!), and many games and activities throughout the day. It also includes a bagged lunch as well as BBQ dinner!

We will have many adoptable animals (including puppies!!) wandering around and loads of prizes to give away as well.

Chaos and Spooky are our residents of the week! They are a sister and brother bonded pair and they are just the sweetest. Chaos is outgoing and super social. And her brother Spooky is a little shy to start, but definitely warms up!

Chaos has a little extra weight on her that will need to come off but other than that she is in fantastic health. Both are house trained and both would do well in a home with children and possibly other animals too!

Meet Milk, a three-year-old Domestic Shorthair with a heart as pure as his snowy white fur. Milk is the epitome of sweetness, adoring every moment spent with his human companions. Unfortunately, he is also suffering from very painful dental disease that can only be resolved with the majority of his teeth being removed.
We're launching a fundraising campaign to cover Milk's medical expenses. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to ensuring Milk receives the treatment he desperately needs. we want to bring a smile back on his face -even if he is all gums! One of our values at LAPS is collaboration and we truly believe in helping wherever we can.
When we realized that our resources allowed for us to support another organization and bring some animals into care, we reached out to some colleagues in the rescue world to advise we could help. Straight Outta Rescue Society took us up on the offer and with help from one of their driving volunteers we welcomed a momma and her three pups, a momma cat and her kittens, and a bonded pair of young adult kitties! We are helping spay the momma dog and cat and they are going back to their loving families in Lytton and Boston Bar which very much aligns with our goal of keeping families united with their pets. Collaborations like this really help us realize our vision of Thriving animals, Caring people.

Keep and eye on our website over the next few weeks for their adoption availability!

Our ability to accept surrenders for dogs is difficult right now (these pups are going into foster) and we are reserving our shelter spots for those who are most vulnerable. However, we do have the ability to help with kitties.

With the weather starting to get warmer, we can't wait to get all the shelter pups out in to the yard and playing outside more often! To keep them cool while they're out there enjoying the sun, we love to use kiddie pools... and the pups love them too! We're asking for a donation of hard plastic kiddie pools for the pups to enjoy all summer.

If you have the resources available and can donate a kiddie pool to LAPS, please DM us or just drop it by the shelter. All of us at LAPS and all the pups thank you in advance!! 💚🐶💚

Our week of Lola is almost done! This sweet girl is still waiting to find her new family and we just can't express what a beautiful demeanour this lovely girl has! Lovely Lola is available for adoption! She is the sweetest good girl who would love a calm home to belong to. She is shy to begin with but warms up quickly. This is Lola! She has been housed in our shelter for awhile now so we’d like to bring attention to this beautiful girl!

Lola was found in Langley in rough shape. Her care takers have done a great job helping Lola heal and now this good girl is ready for her new home! Lola is a Staffordshire Terrier and about 5 years old. She is shy to start but warms up quite easily. She loves to play in the yard, cuddle in bed and perform her many tricks for treats!

Lola’s perfect home would have no other dogs and have a bit of patience to teach her to walk on leash a bit better. This sweetheart would be the perfect companion so come visit her today!!

On Saturday, we took Odin and Moose out to an amazing event in Maple Ridge! The ball hockey tournament in memory of Cst. Rick O'Brien was an event put on by his wife, Nicole, and her team, to continue on his goals of closing any gaps between youth and law enforcement using sport. While the weather was gloomy, there was nothing but fun had by all who played and coached in the tournament and those that just came to support and spectate! Looking forward to next year already! ❤️❤️❤️

Update: owner found!!

Help us find her family!!
This sweetheart was found at 198a and 33a and no one has come for her to our surprise. She has ID but it can’t be traced until Monday as the clinic is closed. Someone clearly loves her and we are sure they would like her home sooner rather than later… please share so she doesn’t have to spend the weekend as our guest.
