Meet Blaze! This lovely 12 year old senior was pictured here just moments after his dental procedure. Oral care is so important for our senior pets. We know how damaging chronic inflammation can be in the body. Regular dental cleanings under anesthesia where X-rays of the teeth and cleaning above and below the gumline is so important for their ongoing comfort. A good pre-op physical exam, labwork and sometimes chest X-rays helps us to determine if they are good candidate for anesthesia so their caregivers can make an informed decision. Often at their post-dental check up I hear how they are like a puppy again!
