I know I can’t be the only one dreaming about this 🤷🏻‍♂️

Looking for a couple more riders (or horses🐴) to make this financially feasible for everyone and these are just tentative dates. Horses will be stabled at WEC and we will rent a paddock there as well so they can stretch their legs. I will be there for the full duration, but each rider is planning a different length stay (due to March Break, work schedule, etc.). Your horse will be well looked after and ready to show at this phenomenal venue once you arrive!

Currently ridden full-time by a professional rider from Germany, who trained many horses for the largest breeder in Europe. His training is coming along nicely! Although I will always wear shoes, I apprenticed and learned a lot from one of Scarpati's biggest supporters in Germany, Bernardo Madeira. I learned "the dance". The game is always the same, and you let the horse dictate what is to come next. If they find what you're doing too repetitive, or if you are pushing them too hard, they will express that to you. Be decisive in the body language that you are using, and keep an eye on what they are expressing to you. Starting horses is a lot easier when when you know the game you're playing, and the horses feel like they have some form of control within a new and unfamiliar experience.

I used what I learned to help myself start over 100 untouched three and four year-olds, that came straight out of the field, within a year's time (I hit the dirt a few times). Having the patience to listen to what they're comfortable with happening, will take ten extra minutes now, but will quicken the whole experience tenfold.

I really love that this sport is a life long endeavor. As soon as you think you have it all figured out, you'll have a very humbling moment.

Every horse can teach you something. Occasionally, by force 🙄. Never be afraid to get advice from someone who has been there and done that. I know I've shied away from asking for help, in fear of "looking stupid" or "unknowledgable", only to realize that it was silly to have not gotten another opinion.

If you ever have the opportunity to sit down with someone more seasoned, ask them as much as you possibly can. You don't know what you don't know yet.

Listening to anyone talk about riding is pretty much my favorite thing, but listening to riders who have the benefit of age on their side is a particular honor. Having the direct line to passionate, accomplished, still-horse-crazy riders who are over (or nearly over) 60-years-young makes me want to....
