My son is in his 20's and I'm finding that I have a bit more freedom these days. I've been a Mom to all these lovelies:

When I was a kid we had gerbils, pet rats, beta fish, Shnauzers (who had the cutest babies) and rescued baby birds and strays as needed. As an adult I've always had cats, now I know to have 2 if p

I was reminded today that grief is always experienced at 100%. Every life event that we experience can have an element of loss. I was lucky enough to have this girl in my life through some tough times over the last few years. Huge changes, the death of my Mom, big moves. She’s been my safe haven, and now she’s gone.

I’ll be forever grateful for her love, but this pain is raw. It feels like it did when my Mom died. It isn’t the same, of course, but it hurts just as much.

Grief is the natural and normal response to an end or a change in your life, the loss of something or someone that’s always been there. I told her how much I loved her, how much she helped me, how sorry I was to lose her. She knew…but I knew I needed to tell her.

This pain is real, I’m going to take the action steps to heal my heart. Please PM me if you need some direction on healing your own pain of losing a pet, I have some excellent resources for you.
