Giggles would make a wonderful companion for an active household! Her love for play and energy indicates she’d thrive in an environment where she can get plenty of exercise and stimulation. She is not all energy and most definitely enjoys to cuddle and hang out inside, particularly during these cold winter months! Since she’s good with dogs, she could likely fit in well with another dog or dogs, but her dislike of cats is something to consider if you have or plan to have cats.

Giggles is almost 1 year old, we have her Birthday estimated to be Dec 2nd! We would love to find her forever home before her birthday. She is a medium mixed breed, weighing approximately 40- 50 pounds.

Since she’s potty trained, that’s a big plus, but you may want to work with her on leash manners to ensure walks are more enjoyable for both of you. Training her with positive reinforcement could help her get used to walking calmly on a leash. We’ve found harnesses work best with Giggles to stop her pulling and get her walking calmly by your side, though she is still an excitable gal!

Take a peak at Bing Bing!

Bing bing is now just over 9 months old, he is a large mixed breed boy looking for his forever home! He does amazing with other dogs and is currently paired up with Tostito, he has been learning boundaries. Bing bing would do best in a home with no kitties as he does want to chase them.

Bing bing is our longest residing canine resident, having spent a total of 112 days. He is an absolute sweetheart who just wants to play and learn! In his time here at the shelter he has learned to potty outside, walk better on leash (still needs consistency), and what it means to be a good boy!!

❄️🍁NOVEMBER ADOPTION EVENT🍁❄️

For the whole month of November we hope you find your new love with our month-long Adoption Event!! 🐾 All dog and puppy adoption fees have been dropped to $200 and all cats/kittens to $50.

With almost every kennel in our facility having a resident, we desperately need help with creating much needed space. We are starting to hit the beginning of a very busy season of incoming strays with the cold on the way, and to ensure we have space, we need to get our current residents into homes!

All canines and felines are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccines and microchipped prior to adoption.

There are currently over 50 animals available for adoption, with numerous more becoming available over the coming weeks. If you are unable to make it during business hours, give us a call at 763-6110 and we will do our best to accommodate a time that works for you!

Come pop by the shelter and fall in love 😻

Do you have a shop, farm yard or acreage and you need help with rodent control?

Consider adopting through our Barn Buddies Program. Our Barn Buddies Program is for available cats who thrive and prefer living in free-range, independent environments rather than settling down in a typical home. Many of these cats are experienced outdoor cats, who are not use to (and don’t appreciate) being confined inside the home.

Our eligible Barn Cats are all spayed/neutered, dewormed and up to date on vaccines prior to going home.

It is against the city bylaws to let your cats roam (loose) at large within the city. The Barn Buddy program is only eligible for rural residents.

Meet our adorable pup Harper 🥰

Harper is a 7 month old medium sized mixed breed pup. This girl came into our care after being found abandoned outside a house after tenants moved out. Upon coming into our care this dear girl was understandably scared and confused. Why her family left her behind, she nor we will fully understand. However she is in safe hands and we have promised her that we will find her a forever home where she won’t be left behind again.

At first meeting Harper, she often is quite scared and shy. But when you give her the patients and time to come up to you in her time, that tucked tail soon starts to pick itself up and will start wiggling and wagging. She then just wants to crawl right into your lap and snuggle right up to you, quick to giving kisses and get all excited in making a new friend. Once you become her friend, she gets so excited to see you and you know that you are the BEST part of her day!!

She is great with other dogs and cats, but it when her dog friends get to playful with her she can get a bit scared. A canine friend who will be patient as she learns to gain her confidence would be best. She would love a home with kids, however they will also need to be patient and gentle with her.

She needs a family who can help build her confidence. She can get easily scared and overwhelmed, thinking she is being bad when she isn’t. When she thinks she is in trouble she is quick to shut down and run to a corner or hide.

Harper has become pals with Buttercup, another adoptable dog in our care. Buttercup has been helping Harper learn to play and be confident!

Harper is a very quiet girl, is not destructive and is very clean in her kennel. She currently weighs just over 30lbs, and she will not grow to be too big of a dog. We would guess she will be around knee-high once fully grown!

Hey folks 👋

I am Wes, a 7 month old neutered male tabby kitty. I have grown up with Dewie, the PASPCA dog, and we are best buddies! While I wait to find my forever home, she keeps me company as well as my foster sister Mal (another kitty who is also looking for her new family).

I came into the PASPCA as a very young malnourished kitten early this year in July. I was found in very poor condition, being very underweight and undersized for my age. Unfortunately I did not receive the proper care and nutrition in those fragile stages of young kitten-hood, and it is something that will affect me for my whole life.

Unfortunately my back legs did not properly grow and develop, likely due to the lack of nutrients within my frail little body. This has resulted in me having weak back legs. My vet said that my owner will need to keep a close eye to make sure I don't get overweight as my back legs simply wont be able to handle it. Additionally I do struggle with food sensitivities, where my tummy can get upset easily and cause soft stool. We have found success with me staying on a routine diet of strictly hard food. I am currently eating Canadian Naturals Chicken diet and I LOVE it!! I don't get wet food or treats because they upset my tummy. However if my tummy gets upset, my vet said to sprinkle some FortiFlora on my dry food and it will help calm my tummy down. Which has worked great for me!!

I have grown up in a foster home for almost my entire stay at the SPCA. In my foster home, I grew up with other cats, large and small dogs as well as a bearded dragon! I LOVE my friends at home, and am very social and outgoing. I have also grown up with having lots of visits with a young child, and I am so patient and gentle with kids. I am a sucker for attention, and simply love LOVE! One silly thing about me is I LOVE giving people kisses! That is my way of showing my love to you, is giving you kisses :)

Please don't get scared of my medical journey. I am not a hard kitty to take care of and though I have special medical needs, I promise you I am worth it. My foster momma tells me all the time that I am one of those "special ones". The kitty you fall head over heals with and the one that will always hold a special place in your heart. I promise to bring you a sense of love in your life, that you didn't know you so desperately needed.

Check out Pepe Le Pew 🐾

This handsome boy is a 3 year old male large mix breed. He came into our care with another large male dog (Fregrant) and is just an incredible boy. He adores people, and is very outgoing and confident. He does do well with other dogs, however he likes to be the man in charge.

This boy loves being outside, and loves to keep active. He would thrive in a family who would be able to take him on family outings, adventures and explorations. He listens incredibly well, and is eager to learn.

Help our friends over at Flaman Prince Albert Fill their Sleigh/Trailer for the shelter animals for Christmas!!!

Hipster came into our care with an injury to his hip, earning him his new name! He does well with other cats and has healed wonderfully. Hipster is looking for a home full of snacks and enough room for his 3am zoomies
