Sally - Walker hound

Sally, this poor little peanut is not wearing a collar because she's been scratching like crazy since I gave her a chlorohexadrin bath a week and a half ago ! I checked her 3 times to make sure she hadn't picked up fleas or anything at the vet office, so she's on benadryl & an oatmeal bath with beeswax salve on the raw spots in her armpits (from scratching). Seems to finally be working.... noting it in her papers to NEVER use chlorohexadrin shampoo on her !!

Sally did so well left loose in the house for 5 hrs (first time), no accidents, no destruction... just play time then snoozes! what a great little girl !!

Sally - this little peanut had an excellent first night out of the crate and allowed the free run of the house to sleep ! She came to nose surf the edge of the bed at 4:30am to tell me she had to go out to p*e!! I cannot say how very impressed I was with her !! YAY Sally, what a good girl she is!

Ed calls her Tarzana because when she gets a good howl going it can make you just bust out laughing... like Tarzan's yodel in the jungle! This is no where near the squeaky range that she can usually manage!

Banjo may have a few pounds on little Sally girl, but she can hold her own with him! short, fun blast around the yard before ducking inside... it's only -10 now but it was -27 this morning early !! Their feet freeze in minutes at those temps.

This little girl is a dream in the tub & just stood still for her bath after I lifted her into the tub!! LOVE this pic..."Dawling, can we do my nails too?" LOL!

I was trying to get that gawd awful squeaky howl on tape... this is just a sample that doesn't come anywhere near what she can do.... makes me laugh every time... sounds like an old bloodhound. Nothing lady like about it ! LOL!

Sally ... enjoying a benebone chew. She is such a little peanut with a very loud, squeaky-door-hinge type howl... just kills me, nothing lady-like about it!

Sally is petite & pretty, even with her pressure scars on her back legs (common among hunt camp or kennel dogs that are kept on concrete)...they will disappear in time.

Sally is just the sweetest little 5 yr old Walker girl that just earned her Freedom ride from the shelter into the safety of rescue yesterday Feb.1, 2020! She is in foster care with Gentle Jake's Coonhound Rescue and will be evaluated over the next 2 wks but what we know so far is that she was surrendered to the shelter by her owner because she didn't want to hunt...(so in other words, not much prey drive...which will make her an excellent pet). She craves affection and will seek out your loving touch. Unlike most coonies, she doesn't seem to have much food focus. Stay tuned for updates on this girl.
