I love the sutle yellow of this dahlia, Creamy, it goes well with Ferncliff Pearl and of course the Cafe Au Lait. I just love the fall weather it is perfect for dahlias- less bug pressure, and no need to open your tap to water them because Mother Nature will now do it for you. :)

First time growing Hy Patti dahlia- she is the 8 inch copper orange bloom in this bouquet. She also has sturdy, long stems that makes her a perfect cutflower. Hoping for good tubers and good winter storage on this one! 🤞

She’s beautiful ❤️ but here it doesnt show how many bulbs I pulled to fight tulip fire… having a cover from the constant rain did help but not with the humidity it creates when the sun is up. It is what is. Next year will be a different spot. 🤞

Our employee, aka husband 😅, did great on topping up compost on peony areas and prepping dahlia beds. And hey what a beautiful day in spite of what was stated in the weather report. 😅😊

Tulips are ending and here comes the tricky time between late Spring(is it even Spring? Lol)to Summer here on the island. I started my Ranunculus late this year, planted a lot more irisis and let some peonies bloom to cover this period. I even started sunflowers too but not sure if they are going to take off with the weather we are experiencing. Oh well, I just love my small scale operation, just enough to make everything enjoyable. ❤️❤️❤️

Peony and dahlia beds weeded. 🙏🙏🙏Hoping to get all the dahlias planted with hoop before everything gets into a blur next week. The busiest day in every flower farmer farmstand’s life, for me; is always the Mama’s day. Specially if you are seasonal, all the chores in your list need to happen almost all at the same time. 🤞

It’s not always dreamy flowers really but in reality a ton of dirt and mud. ☺️Our little cabin turning into a storage for flowers and dahlias soon :) ❤️ Say -aye, if you see a child sleeping. 😄

My perennialize tulips are blooming now. Sincerely, hats off to tulip farmers!!! My son and I manually sorted out the bigger bulbs to plant last fall, oh boy. I will never do that again. Lol. I know the flower farming practice of pulling all the tulip bulbs and tossing it but my curiosity takes me to experiment how things are done in Holland. Great respect to all tulip flower farmers, thank goodness they existed for us to enjoy different varieties of tulip these days.
