With an emphasis on preventative health care we offer diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry. For issues beyond the scope of our office we take full advantage of the incredible referral specialists available in the GTA to ensure the best possible care for your four-legged companion.

In addition to medical services, we also offer pet grooming, prescription diets, and handmade pet accessories to keep your furry family members pampered and happy from tip to tail!

Our Story

We are a friendly neighbourhood veterinary clinic that has been operating in the Van Horne Plaza since the 1970s. As a small clinic we operate much as your family physician does, tailoring health care to your pets’ individual needs. With an emphasis on preventative health care we offer diagnostics, surgery, and dentistry. For issues beyond the scope of our office we take full advantage of the incredible referral specialists available in the GTA to ensure the best possible care for your four-legged companion. Dr. Rapoport has been with Bowhill since 1988, assuming ownership in 1995 following Dr. Tobe’s retirement. Her life revolves around her herd of whippets (who currently number six) and two cats who oversee their domain while she and the whippets are away at work. Together, they strive to bring a personal small-town feel to the big city. Dr. Cowan does our surgeries and has a doctorate in naturopathic medicine and can provide consultations in holistic, alternative, and chinese medicine for your pet. He is often accompanied by his deputy, “Hank” (with his abundance of fur) while his three cats keep the home base locked down.
