We need your help !

We have a couple medical cases that neee to make their way to us as soon as possible

We are looking for passengers with existing flights that we can link a couple pups to. We take care of every cost wise to do with adding the crates and will even have a volunteer to meet you at each end !

We are looking for people flying from Winnipeg to either Abbotsford or Vancouver in the next couple weeks. Preferably west jet but we can also use air Canada !

Fosters needed! Our shelter is quite full with cats, rabbits, and birds! We are running out of space for strays, so we could really use your help! Of course, we would love if our shelter animals went right into furever homes! However, sometimes we need to free up space, animals need socializing, medical care, or just a break from the shelter. Most of our foster placements are for cats, rabbits, and other small animals. Dog foster placements are rare. Placement durations can be short term or long term, depending on the animal’s needs. We will cover veterinary care (at our partner vet hospitals) for the foster animal, and we will provide prescription food and medications. We can also provide non-prescription food and other supplies, but of course, if the fosters can help in anyway, that is always appreciated.

Pauly is a dream 🖤 the most perfect friendly and loving puppy!

Rescued as a stray from NWT and currently recovering from Pavo. He is amazing with people, dogs and cats! Not tested with children but I can only imagine he would be good. He doesn’t jump, bark or show any aggression.

Currently crate training him and teaching him basic commands.

Lately we have been feeling like we can barely keep our head above water. Just today we got pleas to help 3 cats in need of immediate medical care with nowhere to go, two being injured strays and one being Hazel pictured below.

We are in desperate need of donations so that we can continue to help those who have been turned away everywhere else and truly have nowhere else to go.

Hazel is just a year old and has bone cancer in her knee, unfortunately her owners had exhausted all their means to help her and reached out to us as their last resort.

Hazel has had her leg amputated today as this will eliminate the pain and the source of cancer. Please consider donating to help Hazel and cants like Hazel get a second chance.

🌞 Hot weather alert 🔥
With the temperatures soaring in Vancouver this week and next week we have been searching for the best ways to keep our pets cool!

Here’s some great ideas we are trying out this weekend..

1. We just got our pups these great cooling vests and harnesses by from - get them wet and they keep your dogs body cool so walks in the heat or lounging in the house can be more comfortable for them.

2. With temperatures set to reach over 35 degrees on Sunday and Monday we plan to give our dogs some cool play time at a daycare that has AC and water/ice games. We highly recommend

3. Try freezing a bandana or toy

4. Frozen treats! We like to make our own by freezing treats and peanut butter in ice cube trays! Frozen fruit is a great option too!

5. We don’t exercise our dogs in the hot weather so basically only morning and evening. Try puzzle games in the house to keep them entertained!

And of course the usual reminders of lots of fresh water and never ever leave your dog in the car. Even car rides can be too hot unless you have a great AC! I know they are too hot for me today! 🥵

Finally, I know this is a luxury which some cannot afford, but as we have 4 fur babies we have bought an AC unit to cool the house down during the day for them. We have a sun facing corner unit which gets blazing sun all day so we really couldn’t do without it!
