Release Day
One of our trappers returned 3 cats to the properties of their caregivers yesterday. Dee’s Orohan Kitten Fund paid for all the vet care needed, at no cost to the owner, including spay/neuter, vaccines, parasite control, microchip & one had her eye removed from a previous injury.
Dee's has three special needs cats that need a forever home. They are:
1. Feral - so will never allow you to touch them
2. Toothless - so need soft food for life
3. Elderly - so may only be with you for a few years
4. Previously injured - the colony they were in was attacked by some sort of wild animal - as you can see one is missing one ear. Another is missing part of her tail.
They would like to have an secure, outdoor life, as long as it provides a protected spot to rest and get out of the weather. If you can help these cats that had a very rough few years please message us. Thanks!!
Dee's has some beautiful and rare orange female teenage cats looking for their forever home! Message for an adoption application
These 2 adorable siblings have been with us for a year and are still looking for someone to adopt and love them. All vet care up to date. A boy and a girl
These two 7 week old feral kittens trapped yesterday in Central Saanich are starting to learn that humans aren’t so bad. The black & white one is already purring when picked up.
These are two of the many kittens & cats we have in our care. Your donations & participating in our fundraising events, like the online silent auction we currently are running, pays for the thousands of dollars monthly vet bills, food (mostly prescription food) & litter.

We’ll be posting soon about the two families trapped this week by one of our volunteers. Pls stay tuned for that.
Just a reminder that all our adoptions go through Pets West in the Broadmead Mall on Royal Oak Drive.
Another trapping day in Duncan for Dee's Orphan Kitten Fund. This time an injured & elusive 3 month old kitten. Mom was trapped yesterday & an intact male snuck into the trap this morning. A volunteer drove up to Duncan with someone interested in trapping to bring the trapped male down & try to trap the kitten.
Our volunteer placed a kitten trap & a drop trap near a trailer the kitten was hiding under. After 30 minutes she started playing kitten meows which drew the kitten out but no where near the traps. The kitten meowed back but didn’t budge from a wood pile.
Our volunteer moved the trap to the wood pile & then played the kitten meows again. Out came the kitten but not close enough to the traps so she started meowing herself. The kitten responded & meowed back. She kept meowing with the kitten talking to her. It finally smelled the food & circled the trap & started in. Kitten set off the trap in less than one minute & was reunited with its momma at the foster home. The injured back leg will be checked out by a vet to determine appropriate medical treatment.
Sweet Squinty is still looking for a home, after 2 years in our charity. She is shy at first but as you can see, is so sweet and loving with someone she knows and trust. She lost her eye as a kitten from an injury, but is otherwise perfectly healthy.
