If you were at our fun Halloween party on Sunday, you know we were collecting fundraising donations to help K9 Advocacy Manitoba and they are also looking for donations of food, to help feed the dogs they bring in to rescue.

🐶 We Need Your Help! 🐶

With so many dogs currently in our care, our stock of dog food is running low. This doesn’t happen often, but we could really use a helping hand right now to keep all our furry friends fed and happy. 🧡

If you’re able to donate dog food, please drop off your donation at the following locations:

* 1345 Niakwa Rd East

🍂 Thanksgiving weekend is a busy time at the park, with everyone enjoying the fall weather! Please take some extra bags and bank some p**p karma!! 💩🥰 There is plenty around this time of year, when it gets dark earlier, so if you are getting your dogs extra energy out before the big family meal, or walking it off afterwards, let's be thankful for our big beautiful park and show it some love by helping keep it clean. 😊🐕

🎉 Good news for everyone that was concerned for this dog, who was in a poster that had been shared on Facebook!!! 🎉

Animal Cruelty – Arrest: C24-233387

On October 6, 2024, officers from the Central District responded to the Forks Market for reports of a dog being assaulted by an adult male.

Citizens at the Forks observed the dog being abused and recognized it as a missing dog recently posted about on social media. Security was notified, and police were contacted.

A 30-year-old male, Batista Nikalo SANDERSON, of Winnipeg, was arrested and charged with the following offences:

- Killing or Injuring Animals
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000

He was detained in custody.

Thanks to the citizens of Winnipeg, the dog has been reunited with its family and does not have serious injuries.

👀 We have had a message asking for information, so we are checking with our users. ❓ There are people who have their own companies or who work through other services who bring dogs to an off-leash park. We are asking people if they provide that service, or maybe know someone they would recommend. We know it is available and popular because not all dogs are happy with just a leash walk around the neighbourhood and sometimes owners are busy, or laid up. Please comment with your info or tag with suggestions. 👀🐶
