Crescentwood Small Dog Play Group A small dog playgroup for dogs under 30lbs who would like to play with others the same size. Become a groupie and join the play!

We have been running our small dog playgroup for over 5 years and during that time we have had the opportunity to play with over 350 dogs! The Crescentwood Small Dog Playgroup runs within the boundaries of Pembina Hwy west to Kenaston Blvd. We have been fortunate to work closely with community centers in our area who have supported indoor and outdoor play environments for our small dogs. We welcome all small dog owners from across the city you don't have to live in our area to participate!

.. so my next door neighbor Harvey who I've known since I moved in, has been sick & is passing away today. They took him off the ventilator 😢

He has 2 female Schitzu's that will need to be rehomed. Annie is about 16, losing sight & hearing and Macy is about 12. Super sweet girls, very calm, easy take care of, balcony trained & indoor trained, do not bark, just like company, pats, treats & love. They get groomed about every 3/4 months. I've contacted them as well. They definitely need to be kept together.

I'd love to be able to keep in contact with new owners, to know how the girls are keeping.

Please let me know if you happen to have anyone in mind that could give these two sweet girls a loving home to live out the rest of their lives.

I understand that he took them to Tuxedo Vet, I will be contacting them to see if they'll give me or his son any pertinent information on the girls.

The city of Winnipeg has to do better for our dogs. Here are the postal code results from our dog park survey. 1 Blue mark for every Postal code. Over 1200 signatures! The city doesn't want to spend the time or resources updating the bylaws on what constitutes a small dog - let alone deal with our requests to create SAFER dog parks. Check the bylaws, even the daycares don't have guidance. https://legacy.winnipeg.ca/cms/animal/dog-daycare.stm Unfortunately the thinking that dog parks are safe for ALL DOGS is very flawed - but the city likes to issue this blanket statement that they are. Our story

It is the third season of the Small Dog Play Group!

Inspired by my little Chewie - the group continues to entertain, inspire and build confidence in our little neighbourhood dogs. Join us weekly for the opportunity to meet other small dog owners, watch your dog explore, play and observe other dogs their size. It is amazing to see them after a few groups their confidence and the excitement when they come.

With the success of the last two year, I continue to secure special insurance and a pay for the space so I am hoping that I can recoup those costs, in collecting $5 per dog. Please feel free to bring toys - but not their favourites as other dogs may take them. * Dog owners need to stay with their dogs * Dog owners are responsible for clean-up of accidents. (materials will be on hand) * TIP: Try and let your dog relieve themselves outside before coming in * Please carry your dog into the building - less opportunity for contact with kids * Any accidents in the common areas needs to be cleaned up ASAP So looking forward to Sundays!
