A few months ago these dogs/handlers attended a workshop specifically for higher & out of reach hides. We stripped it right back to foundations and gradually introduced the foundations back in to a search.
It’s great to see these skills continue to develop 👌 Well done all 👍

Todays sniffer 🐶 are happy to report that their trip to the north pole to search Santas Grotto was just sooooo much fun:
Brilliant scentwork 1-2-1 this morning with Poppy, 14 months old working cocker spaniel.
Starting with some indoor linear searches on odour and then working outside in an environmentally challanging area.
Poppy happily switches between searching for her motivator and searching for odour which has really enabled us to keep her focused and on task in environmentally challanging search areas such as the one we used today. She knows when she can retrieve her favourite treat ball and when she needs to indicate on imprinted odour.
Poppy is progressing amazingly well - with no rush, no pressure and no expectations!
We are just starting to increase the length of her searches whilst ensuring she is set up to succeed.
Solid foundations are key 👍

Start line waits are to be worked on, but this super little man (Harley) absolutely loves his hoopers (and his scentwork).
Recently practising at compeition spacing (5-6m) this is the longest course on this spacing he has now completed - having been a major part of his hoopers journey and seeing the commitment his ‘mum’ puts in, it was an absolute joy to watch this run and see it all come together 💗 - well done Jacquie & Harley 👌

During Yesterday’s Hoopers workshops we worked on pushing the distance for the duration of a course in perpetration for our upcoming Hoopers show at the end of Feb. 🙂
Every dog/handler partnership is different - with different aims, different goals and different performances on the day - every partnership came away from yesterday’s session having progressed - I am really proud of you all for pushing yourselves yesterday 🥰

A huge well done to everyone of yesterday’s full day scentwork workshop. We used two fantastic venues (Grovely Pets Alton & Brant self storage facility) and enjoyed a lovely cafe lunch too at the The Departure Lounge Cafe.

Youl be pleased to know that Mo had his first outing of 2021 today - no grass cutting though - just a check that he is all charged up and good to Mo!!! He needs a good dust off before he gets to business, hopefully next week!!
