Receptionist position at Blenheim Vets

We are a busy first opinion veterinary practice with an excellent reputation within the beautiful market town of Ashbourne. We aim to offer a warm, friendly feel to our clients whilst providing an excellent service. We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Receptionist. As the first point of contact for our company, the Receptionist plays a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth office operations. This is a part time position but with a requirement for flexible overtime.

The ideal candidate will have a positive can-do attitude, excellent communication skills, IT literacy and a caring disposition. You will work very closely with our friendly practice team and help provide a quality experience for pet owner and pet alike. In an environment which is often emotionally stressful for clients and pets, the ability to remain calm, confident and friendly under pressure is essential.

Minimum of 19.5 hours per week PLUS a share of the Saturday morning rota PLUS regular overtime when required to cover holidays and illness. These additional hours are an essential part of this role so you must be able to confirm that you will be able to be flexible. Our rota runs from 8am to approximately 7pm and sometimes later and you must be able to cover a variety of shifts.

Responsibilities
· Answering and managing phone calls
· Greeting and arriving clients on the IT system
· Cash handling
· Handling sensitive and confidential information
· Ensuring the reception area is kept clean, tidy and stocked
· General cleaning duties
· Office administration duties – scanning and attaching documents, e-mailing
· Responsibility for a variety of practice protocols
· Dealing with emergencies and clients in distress

Qualifications:
- Previous experience in an administrative or receptionist role
- Proficient in using computer software

Approach to the role:
- Excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively
- Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry tasks
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Professional demeanour with a positive attitude
