We are very excited to announce that we now have a Full Time Student Veterinary Nurse position available for someone to join our team! We are open to this being either a student looking to begin their training, or someone part way through!

Taking great pride in being a friendly, independently owned, RCVS Accredited Training Practice with a very close-knit family team, we look forward to welcoming a new member in to our practice!

If you are visiting the practice with your cat or small animal please ensure that they are in a secure carrier.
Our main doors lead out to a main road, and there are frequently people and their pets (including dogs, which may be barking) coming in and out of reception, which may cause even the chillest cat to want to run!
Ensuring that your cats are in a secured carrier prevents any risk of them escaping and possibly causing themselves harm or getting lost.
If you do not have a carrier, contact the practice prior to your appointment and we can arrange lending you a spare carrier for the visit. Please note that we have a limited amount of spare carriers, so making sure that you have your own is the best option.

This morning, in the area of the practice, a client's cat carrier unfortunately came apart and the two kittens inside managed to escape. If you are in the area of the practice, please can you be on the look out for them, one is black and the other is black and white. If you see them, please let us know either in the practice or call on 01233 661099.

Amy has been a Registered Veterinary Nurse since 2019 and has been here at Margetts and Associates as our Deputy Head Nurse since June 2021. She has an Airedale cross Poodle called Archie, who loves long walks especially with his ball!

Beth joined the Margetts and Associates team in March 2020. When she started, she had been training for 6 months, and in November 2022 she qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse. When she’s not working, Beth enjoys spending time with her two cats Merlin and Tinkerbell, and her dog Arthur.

MEL GREENGROW SVN...
Mel has been at Margetts and Associates since March 2018 and is currently training to be a Veterinary Nurse hoping to qualify at the end of the year! Three years ago, Mel found herself hand rearing a Labrador puppy, Hunter, from just 2 days old, who she ended up adopting. In her spare time Mel helps out with lambing at a local farm, as well as looking after her two horses; Naomi and Annie, both her dogs; Bella and Hunter, and her cat Freddie.

** VETERINARY NURSE AWARENESS MONTH! **
ELIZABETH BARNES RVN C-SQP...
Liz has been working at Margetts and Associates since November 2013 and is our Head Nurse. She came here as a 2nd year Student Veterinary Nurse, before qualifying in August 2015 and gaining her Registered Veterinary Nurse title. She has since gained two extra qualifications as our Clinical Coach for training our students, as well as a Suitably Qualified Person to deal with medications. Outside of work Liz likes to spend time with her & her partner's lovely bunch of Labradors – they especially like long walks and trips to the beach! Liz also has a horse called Mij, who she has owned for 17 years.

Yesterday we said a sad farewell to our Maddie - we've had the pleasure of her working with us since January 2020, during which she began and completed her training, becoming a fully qualified RVN... She has now moved on to further her skills for nursing exotic animals & focus on her surgery skills. We are so sad to have seen her go, but we're so grateful to have had the pleasure of working with her all these years & can't wait for updates on her new role (and visits of course)! Good luck Maddie, we miss you already 🩷

Just a reminder it is 1 month until all cats must be microchipped!
From the 10th of June it will be a legal requirement for all cats to be microchipped and registered on a Defra compliant database, cat owners may be fined up to £500 if their cat is not chipped or registered!
Please call us on 01233 661099 to get your cat booked in for microchipping if they are not already!

Yesterday we had a black and white entire male cat handed into us, we do not know where he was found and sadly he isn't chipped so we cannot reunite him with his owner. ** EXCITING NEWS **

From today, with the start of our new vet Hannah, we are excited to announce that we are now able to offer extra weekday consultations between 12pm - 2pm (excluding Wednesdays).

So now our weekday consultation times are 9am - 11am, 12pm - 2pm, and 3pm - 7pm.

All consultations are by appointment only, please call the practice on 01233 661099 to make one.

At the start of this week we had the glass in our front doors replaced and unfortunately we lost the posters that were displayed on there. If you had a missing pet poster on there, and your pet is still missing, please drop off another poster so we are able to put it back up ❤️
