** IMPORTANT **
ALL clients please read

In order to continue to comply with the RCVS guidelines for animals under our care, we are only able to prescribe an animal with prescription medication having preformed a physical examination first. This also includes flea and worm treatments.

To continue to supply routine flea + worm treatment, your pet is required to have been seen by a vet within the last year - this can often be at our annual vaccinations or health check up.

For ongoing medications or repeat prescriptions ALL pets are required to have been seen by a vet within the last 6 months and if your animal is on a controlled drug, a 3 month check up is now required.

Sorry for any inconvenience

Another new face for Iveagh vets 🤩
We would like to introduce Sarah to the practice. Sarah is one of our new small animals vets also 🤩🩺

Sarah graduated from the University of Liverpool in 2019 and worked as a mixed animal vet before taking an interest in small animals. Sarah enjoys all aspects off small animal practice but has a particular interest in dermatology and internal medicine 🩺

Below is a lovely picture of Sarah with her two gorgeous doggy’s, Alfie & Arlo 🐶🐾

You can book an appointment with our new vets via our online website www.iveaghvets.com 😃

Iveagh vets would like to introduce one of our new small animal vets, Moira 🤩🩺

Moira graduated from the University of Nottingham in 2013. She spent her first 7 years out in a mixed practice in NI but wanted to focus more on small animals, specifically soft tissue surgery. She is also interested in exotics so any exotic owners wanting a check up - Moira is your woman!

Below is a lovely picture of Moira with only a few off her animal babies - Larry and Miss Marples 🐶🐢

🐢 Everyone meet Leo 🐢

This little guy was in for a general health check with our exotic vet Moira. 🩺
Leo is slightly underweight for his age, so vet Moira examined him and administered some oral wormer.

🐢 Daily weighing of your tortoise is an important part of their essential care 🐢

💚 Meet Arlo 💚

Arlo was in with Vet Massimo receiving his 2nd vaccination and microchip today. 🩺💉

Vaccinating puppies protects them from infectious diseases that can be very harmful. Puppies are more vulnerable to these illnesses so it’s extremely important they are vaccinated .

What does the vaccine cover❓
•Canine Distemper
•Infectious hepatitis
•Parvovirus
•Parainfluenza
•leptospirosis

When can my puppy receive its first vaccine❓
•Puppies can receive their 1st vaccine from 6weeks old - followed by their 2nd vaccine 4 weeks later
•A booster is then given annually to keep them protected

🐶 Keep your puppies safe 🐶

👺 PRIME TICK SEASON👺

Ticks are a horrible parasite that attach to your pets and even humans😳 They feed off blood and can vary in size.

🕵️‍♀️Ticks can carry a harmful disease known as ‘Lyme disease’ - a bacterial infection spread by ticks which can be harmful to both dogs & humans.

🕵️‍♀️Ticks can feed off the host for 5-7 days. It can be difficult to spot them at first as they can be so tiny, but can grow to the size of your baby finger nail 😱

🕵️‍♀️Remeber when removing ticks it is crucial you also remove the head, leaving part of a tick behind can lead to infection.

🕵️‍♀️Prime season for ticks to appear is usually June - early September. However this does not mean they can’t get ticks throughout the year - Always check your dogs for ticks ✅

Be proactive and keep on top of tick prevention 🤩

✅Keep your flea / tick treatments up to date - call into see our lovely staff members to receive your flea/tick treatment
✅Daily reminders will be sent out to you to help keep on top of flea/tick treatments
✅Any concerns or queries about a possible tick on your pet, our Vets & Nurses will be happy to help.

Phone the clinic on 02840662334 or go onto our website and book an appointment via the vetstoria link - We are always happy to help 😁

🌟 Superstar Rex 🌟

Rex was brought into the clinic back in April as he had a fractured femur. He was a brave boy and was admitted for surgery to repair his fracture. 🦴
Post operative, Rex was on STRICT cage rest for 6 weeks. (Throughout the 6 weeks, he was a spoilt pooch & received lots of cuddles / attention. 🙈)
Rex was in today for a radiographic evaluation to see about removing the external pin on his hind leg.
The pin was successfully removed by Vet Massimo - Rex will be monitored closely throughout his recovery period to prevent any infections / further injuries. 🤩

~ He was such a good boy & enjoyed plenty of cuddles with RVN Maia 🥰🐾
Look at his wee face 🥹

We hope to see you again Rexy boy 💙
