5* Livery yard with superb facilities. Offering full, training, rehab & competition livery. Babington Dressage is a small family owned and run yard.

We aim to provide a supportive and friendly environment to enable both horse and rider to develop their goals.

Tom and Jane Martin live on site and are both keen horse riders. Their son George, in partnership with his wife Karla and yard manager Sue look after the day to day running of the yard.

George has competed up to Prix St Georges level on horses that he has produced himself.

Horses a

re taken in for full, training and holiday livery.

Training is available on site for all levels, from preliminary to advanced with Tania Dressage.

- 24 x 64 Outdoor horse arena with premier wax surface

- 20 x 40 Indoor arena with premier wax surface and mirrors

- Monarch horse stables and windows

- 3 Solariums in grooming/tacking up bays

- Hot and cold water wash bays for all horses

- 16m Round pen for lunging

- 5 Horse Claydon Horsewalker

- Well fenced and maintained turnout paddocks

- Parking for trailers and lorries by arrangement

🐴WANTED🐴

We are looking for a lovely horse for our yard manager to be based here with us at Babington Dressage.

They don’t need to be a world-beater, but it is a priority that they have a good trainable temperament and three decent paces.

Gelding preferred, but will consider a mare.

4 -9yrs

Must be ridden away, safe and sound. It would be a bonus if they hacked.

Mid to high four-figures

Open to loaning in the right circumstances.

Apprentice or Groom

We are looking for a full-time groom or a new apprentice to join our current excellent team with a love and passion for horses. You must be hardworking, willing to learn and organised.

Main responsibilities:
- Day-to-day grooming of up to 12 lovely horses, two riders and liveries.
- Day-to-day yard duties mucking out, turning out, bringing in, poo picking, etc.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
* Experience handling young and competition horses
* Proactive and adaptable
* Willingness to learn and develop
What we can offer:

International Grand Prix Dressage Rider Abi Lyle is hosting another clinic here at Babington Dressage.

Abi trains regularly with both Carl Hester and Gareth Hughes. She is a highly knowledgeable, sympathetic and experienced instructor who welcomes riders and horses of all levels. You do not need to be at a certain level to attend a lesson; all abilities are welcome, from Intro to Grand Prix.

- Complimentary tea, coffee, and snacks.

Roughly 12 weeks ago George gave me the ride on the incredible Elf (earning many husband brownie points 🤣). Yesterday I did my first ever Advanced Medium and my first show on Elf. Feeling very nervous and completely out of my comfort zone, the first test felt like a bit of a whirl wind. I felt like I rode like a total lemon forgetting to breath or half halt through the whole thing! I had a quiet word with myself in the break and actual felt like I rode the second test slightly better. We came away with 68.3% in the first test and 70.2% in the second with a couple 4s in both tests, there is a lot to work on but I couldn’t be prouder of Elf looking after me and I’m very excited as this is just the start of our journey together. Huge thanks to Gareth Hughes for his continued support and patience.

Very pleased with Elf yesterday getting 71.32% in the PSG to win the class by 5%! He has improved so much over the last few weeks and there is so much more to come from this kind and happy horse. There are lots of people who have helped keep Elf in tip top shape and I am very thankful to all of them, @nalaninking also made him look beautiful and did a great job grooming 😍 #dressage #horses #dressagecompetition #dressagehorsesofinstagram #dressagehorse

A lovely show yesterday at Onley with both boys competing in the Prix St Georges. Goose arrived at Babington 6 years ago to the day and his wonderful owner @aimeedowallpotter has been so supportive of us, and getting him to this level was something we only dreamt of. We scored just shy of 64% to come 3rd with some green mistakes. He always tries so hard and loves working so I am certain that he will just keep getting better at this level. Elf was a very good boy and has really grown in confidence in the arena recently. A few green mistakes cost us but he scored 66.5% to come 2nd and I could not be more proud of this kind and beautiful horse. A big thank you to my wonderful wife @kurlymartin for being chief supporter and chief driver in our lovely new lorry! #babingtondressage #dressage #prixstgeorges

Gloria Lesson

Gloria and Karla had a great session with Gareth on Saturday, Gloria is slowly starting to get stronger. She is a very special horse.

Karla and Gloria went to their second show today and came home with two firsts, scoring just under 75% and 71%. Thank you to everyone who came to support them.

A wonderful day for the ponies at Babington Dressage. Karla took her young horse Gloria to her first show and got 1st place with just under 70%. She was an absolute star and behaved like a true professional. Karla then took Skyla to her third show and second BD and won both novice classes on just over 65%. She was impeccably behaved and loved the chance to put her dancing shoes on twice in one day :)
